och thats only a wee diddy cup over the moon with the results this last few week's sent my birds in hope they could fly ypres

thought getting a timer in newbury was great but this topped it

got to say a big thanks to billy allison the man who won the section from alencon last week who took the trouble to find my mobile number and gave me a call to say well done on timing

thats what's great about the doo game pity politics gets in the way sometimes

Sounds like Ypres has been a decent race especially for the lanarkshire lads. Hope the guys who maybe don't get a bird till tomorrow won't be to downhearted the same birds might do you proud next year

sounds like a fantastic race in fact the best channel race since the clermont race in 2003? (i think) when most timed on the day well done ALL WHO TIMED  and as (me) say's the next day birds might be the leaders from the channel next year

seems to me that the shorter the race the happier people are channel races should be 500 miles plus even the s.n.f.c  is turning to sprint racing with the inland races a great man once said a sprint pigeon is a failed racer it seems to me that the money side keep the bidage up is taking priority play it safe i wonder if we will ever see a two hundred mile young bird race ever again in the lanarkshire fed

Good points mate

I have always said this, the SNFC races are getting shorter. :-/ and now with another inland national

It was 1995 when I last competed in a 600+ mile race

However, the North Section guys have it different, their doos dont have any sprint races to face, they are hard as nails....... total respect  ;)

good enough point, but will you pay the going rate  to send them 600-700 miles, there is nothing stopping the national other that  tight gits and selfishness, when you  are sending birds to Leicester for 35p and there are ones  having a moan at that,  and at  Â£2 to eastbourne even when there birds sent only amount to  6 birds, then want   600 mile races  but want every other concession its not to late  for all distance men  join up  pay a tenner a bird  go  anywhere you like feel free, it is showing up  just now the  birds at the distance races are  1,000 at the most and thats being generous so  for £10,000 pound you can go anywhere for a race

This race is not about distance but the wishes of some the Belgium people who asked the Scottish fanciers to use Ypres as a racepoint. Its about much more than just a pigeon race, sorry.

There was a suggestion at last AGM that Ypres may become the first Home International in 2010. Seems they were too late getting the idea off the ground or it could have started this year. Agree, much more than a pigeon race, and does the sport of pigeon racing proud being part of it.
