me Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Sounds like Ypres has been a decent race especially for the lanarkshire lads. Hope the guys who maybe don't get a bird till tomorrow won't be to downhearted the same birds might do you proud next year
hotrod Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 sounds like a fantastic race in fact the best channel race since the clermont race in 2003? (i think) when most timed on the day well done ALL WHO TIMED and as (me) say's the next day birds might be the leaders from the channel next year
duncandoo Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 seems to me that the shorter the race the happier people are channel races should be 500 miles plus even the s.n.f.c is turning to sprint racing with the inland races a great man once said a sprint pigeon is a failed racer it seems to me that the money side keep the bidage up is taking priority play it safe i wonder if we will ever see a two hundred mile young bird race ever again in the lanarkshire fed

(i think) when most timed on the day well done ALL WHO TIMED and as (me) say's the next day birds might be the leaders from the channel next year was good for fanciers to get the bulk of the birds home this time after the last few races, will lift the heads and give aq bit of hope fpr a while, well done to everyone.

Its about much more than just a pigeon race, sorry.

Its about much more than just a pigeon race, sorry. There was a suggestion at last AGM that Ypres may become the first Home International in 2010. Seems they were too late getting the idea off the ground or it could have started this year. Agree, much more than a pigeon race, and does the sport of pigeon racing proud being part of it.
