Bluedoo Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 13 (unlucky for some) out of 17 at 19:00. 4 of them first race this year (3 home) 180 miles. Happy at getting them, speechless about them being released.
Bluedoo Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Happy is an understatement having read Taylorsloft returns.
Jumbo Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Mike 13 home is not bad at all , will see how we get on tomorrow
Guest Vic Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I'm amazed, that with all the modern electronic devices , that we possess. Holdovers should be a thing of the past and later marking (as the Liverpool Amal has proved, over the last couple of years) should be, and is, the solution to unnecessary shipping of pigeons. Why not use it?
Fair Play Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Glasgow took the best option - held over until Sunday supposed to be a better day- today at Alexandria chill in the air wind veering in from the East
frank-123 Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 sorry about your poor returns but ask yourself why did your feds go to others flying into or near the same area hold happened to lanarkshire fed year after year until we put the right men into place Jim Hannah,Alex Billy and tam garvie before Alex there main priority is looking after the race birds no matter the cost or the trouble of holding birds I reckon you need to be at the racepoint in case the weather changes so sometime Sunday basketing doesn't work
Delboy Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 midland fed disaster :( :( :([/ TOTAL DISASTER. I RECKON BETWEEN 25-30 BIRDS HOME IN FED FROM 1600 AT 9.30 PM FROM 180-190 MILES. I HAVE 2/36. IS THIS THE WORST RACE IN HISTORY??

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 midland fed disaster :( :( :([/ TOTAL DISASTER. I RECKON BETWEEN 25-30 BIRDS HOME IN FED FROM 1600 AT 9.30 PM FROM 180-190 MILES. I HAVE 2/36. IS THIS THE WORST RACE IN HISTORY?? When you keep pigeons all year round you look forward to the racing season, but always in the back of your mind you realise that when you get to the coast or channel you are going to get some sticky / disaster races at 350+ miles but never in your wildest dreams do you expect to get a disaster from 180 miles. If i am correct this is not the first time that your fed "Midland fed" has had this at this distance?. Hope all you Midland fanciers get your pigeons tommorrow. cheers Gareth
