hotrod Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 newbury is a bad race it has been for years ,in fact i dont think any of the nationals have had a good race out of it for years, this is why i proposed that the snrpc moved to a more eastern race point (wanstead flats) ,my opinion newbury is in the center of the country when we all or most race eastern england ,watch out if theres east in the wind boys .

Guest IB Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Cooler temperatures because wind turns North tonight and remains North all week, in Scotland , and at Newbury. Saturday probably same?
REDROCKET Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 what do you mean perth thought it was newbury not another short race lol

Stuart, with respect, if Newbury was a bad race then the SNFC members would have changed it. My returns in recent years are 12/14, 7/7, 6/6, 6/7,6/6. That doesnt equate to a bad race point IMO
shotgun tim Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 iv lost some good birds from newbury, but then again iv had some good racing (3rd open 2005)
Guest bigda Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 the race will go early as planed but the central to - west sections will find it the hardest north wind, to north north west, most of the way cant see it change in favour of east in the wind the coastal lofts should clean up the prize money, i await to see different
frank-123 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 great how you all know what wind it will be come saturday ;D

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Was thinking the same myself Delboy, the last few years the returns have been really good, last year we had a race from Cheltenham with the Lanarkshire fed and flew Newbury on the same day and the fanciers returns were as good as you can expect from races around the 280 to 320 mile mark, i do believe some of the boys on the east coast of Scotland struggled with returns from Newbury probably because their pigeons didn't get a chance to hug the coast all the way up the east of the UK as they do week in week out. North east south or west makes no difference good doo's will come to their lofts after all they are homing pigeons !! aren't they??
alec guinness Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 stuart i also have had good racing from newbury and spoke against wanstead flats at the snfc agm. :)i think you made the point with regards to the type of racing we have had in recent weeks and this will definately have more of a bearing with regards returns than the racepoint.
robbiedoo. Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 newbury last year sent 2 got 2 . 435 mile to me i,ve never heard any of the north boys say it,s a bad race point .jmo.
Delboy Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 well mate with respect to you ask more and you will see or is it a case of f u im alright , newbury is a bad race point.why the did the dundee boys vote not to go as a fed ? f u im alright. You know me better than that sir
hotrod Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 boys i havent raced it for two years so cant comment on these two years and if im honest i havent had bad returns from there either but, the big picture is when you ask around you hear of bad returns and bad race's .Some weeks during the season you can ask maybe one or two ,how did your race go and they have good returns so the race was a good one ,but if you were to ask another two or three maybe the story could be different ,last year if you asked me how did the maidstone race go , i would have said i have 5/6 on the night (great race at 385 miles ) but the big picture is none of the other members had a bird or the club next to me none of them had a bird ,now do you know what im saying. and derek f u im alright wasnt directed at you personally.

Chris Little Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 We have had good races from Wanstead Flats with the SNRPC. Mind you SNFC Newbury 2002 wasn't too bad
