Guest IB Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Yes, agree, Saturday. Not sure on route the birds are likely to track though, last I looked it seemed wetter on west coast, brighter weather in east, but wind is east for the first few miles?
ALF Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Just back from Uddingsston sending my doos away i got there before 6.30 and doos went through at 8.45 it was a bit of a shambles to say the least and i think the national should be looking at an additional venue for Eastbourne to cope with the number of birds
mazzie Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Just back from Uddingsston sending my doos away i got there before 6.30 and doos went through at 8.45 it was a bit of a shambles to say the least and i think the national should be looking at an additional venue for Eastbourne to cope with the number of birds i agree

frank-123 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Just back from Uddingsston sending my doos away i got there before 6.30 and doos went through at 8.45 it was a bit of a shambles to say the least and i think the national should be looking at an additional venue for Eastbourne to cope with the number of birds or maybe some where larger we could have more ets systems running but i don't think eastbourne will have the same amount of birds as newbury but maybe next year for the first inland national
Guest bigda Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 cant please every one on marking night, never heard complaints, when they used the old pencil, i take it ets is not fast enough now for the modern day joe ;D ;D
slinky slitheroe Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 or maybe some where larger we could have more ets systems running but i don't think eastbourne will have the same amount of birds as newbury but maybe next year for the first inland national The bottom line is uddingston is too small to cope with the number of fanciers sending to these two inland nationals + the fed race.
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 didnt send any dont fancy my chances so didnt go. Will send to come back race next week then Easbourne national and then either gold cup or falaise see how they go then thats me done for this season no youngsters
Guest bigda Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 The bottom line is uddingston is too small to cope with the number of fanciers sending to these two inland nationals + the fed race. think it was more to do with what ets systems people had in the one Que, and they where at the door, when a unicorn table was free they could not get to it easy as there where tauris users there or the other way around at times i think if they had lined up unicon at a different door way, and tauris the other it would have worked better
Delboy Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Just back from Uddingsston sending my doos away i got there before 6.30 and doos went through at 8.45 it was a bit of a shambles to say the least and i think the national should be looking at an additional venue for Eastbourne to cope with the number of birds I wouldnt say shambles Alf but definately inadequate premises for putting 1100 doos away. The delay was inevitable with the amount of birds but hats off to all the guys that put a shift in today to make it a success
nogin Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 anybody know the total birdage. MY GOOD BUDDY TELL'S ME 5830 ROUGHLY [HOMER]
Delboy Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 think it was more to do with what ets systems people had in the one Que, and they where at the door, when a unicorn table was free they could not get to it easy as there where tauris users there or the other way around at times i think if they had lined up unicon at a different door way, and tauris the other it would have worked better Never before have we had as many birds at the national, SECURITY being a big issue nowadays, I couldnt have people coming in the 2 doors, it would be chaotic.I have to agree ,Uddingston is too small for these types of races but a little patience and co operation from fanciers helps things run smoothly. You have to remember that this is all unpaid work and everybody is trying their best for the cause.
Pego Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Sent 15 to Newbury with SNFC 338 miles to us. 12-2yo, 1-3yo, 1-4yo and 1 yearling. Lets hope for a good steady race and best of luck to everyone racing this weekend.
rebel Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 im sure big derek and the rest of the comittee will act to ensure that they will have more suitable venue capable of handling the amount of bids and fanciers that turned up last night, only glad it was not raining then it could have been a right mess
REDROCKET Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I wouldnt say shambles Alf but definately inadequate premises for putting 1100 doos away. The delay was inevitable with the amount of birds but hats off to all the guys that put a shift in today to make it a success here here well done lads
