dal2 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 yes the snfc was founded on long distance racing but who says we cant have a programme to suit all scottish fanciers in 2010 be it inland or channel racing or both?????? as for the prize change being set at 1/10 as against the previous 1/15 imo this is the correct ratio check out most of the other uk nationals and classic organisations and you will see 1/10 1/8 1/7 so are these organisations mickey mouse????????? going by last years programme we had 300 400 500 600 mile racing for most snfc men!!!!,pigeon fanciers in scotland are thin on the ground and the national must cast its net to all corners. ;) ;) Bang on

Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 got to dissagree john iam not saying that thease races shouldnt take place just that they shouldnt be with a nat club they should be left to the big feds and combines so whats the prob with that maybe the prob is in the name national when it should be channel club JMO
walterbmasson Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 alec guinness did you read bigdas post north and south yes go for it you want the sprint leave the second half to get there just deserts best post yet go for bigda
bibendium Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 could the inland races not be flown under the ospice of the snfc , thus allowing a large birdage, but simply called something other than a national ie Scottish Classic open , or something like that,

dal2 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Is it more water races that the distance man wants? Or is it that in winning an inland national the credit should be less? Or is it just that they shouldnt be called a national? or all three? Me personally like the lot, the more racin the better.
Guest Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 it already is a 2 tier program you only get a silver award for inland races but a gold award for channel races that in itself tells you that channel races are thought more of
Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 what bothers me is the inland race has the potential to destroy your main race birdage if you have a right bad one then the no,s will be down along with all the rest JMO.

alec guinness Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 ? can any of you snfc distance flyers answer me this ? do any of you enter the inland nationals and why? dont say that you use them for training puposes if you do why set a clock and if you win do you refuse the prizes as they are mickey mouse acording to you :-/ was at all 7 nationals last year and i think most fanciers flying the water races will also fly the inland races. :)

Bluedoo Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 there you go, heared it hear first then, thats where the doos come back out arbroath down through dunfermline back of the campsie hills in to the west 80 mile out 2 hours behind the winners in the border Be impressive doos that, flying from the channel to Arbroath then back to Dunfermline and across to the west and only 2 hours behind the winner. If they had brains they would break at Dunfermline the first time they went past it and only be 1 hour behind the winner.
Guest uphallhen Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I would like just one inland national and the rest to be 500 to 600 mile racing with the national. if it was left to bigda then it would be 6 kelso's that would suit him the non member.

Hi Bluedoo this is a guy that says that the fed birds on race day dont come from the campsies hill.
Bluedoo Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Hi Bluedoo this is a guy that says that the fed birds on race day dont come from the campsies hill. Well now we're talking sprinters..............after 500+ miles. I suppose they could always start an national, one that doesn't go OUT of Scotland.

We are lucky to be at 200 miles before the Newbury nat which is approx 400++ to N. sect
