Guest frank dooman
What about making the Gold cup race the duplication race for the feds to get there channel race?? ( And before everyone says some feds might want to go to Ypres some to Falaise well what about scrapping dupliction for them and get 1 race from across the channel that would/should attract a good entry :) :-/ :-/ :) alf like you i think duplication is the way forward for us all but we have to remember it can be very dangerious as well especialy for a clubs main event if the feds and non members have birds at the race and they beat your 1st open it can make mockery of the bigest event in that years calander so IMO thats the only race that duplication should not be allowed great thread but just notice that snfc hasnt came back to it :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Guest bigda
I don't have a problem but why get involved in a matter that has nothing to do with you join the national and have your say were it matters at the A.G.M. If you put as much time and effort into something constructive i am sure you would be a great benifit to that cause i can join the national at any stage of racing in 2010 when going with them, don't need permission to talk about them
Guest frank dooman
Frank almost seems like the start of a wynd up thread but a lot of positives have come into it and has turned out quite interesting. :) yes agree, i too dont think a true nat race starts untill your over the channel but we cant ignor the fact that allot of fanciers want to race with the big no of birds and against the best in the country, but they dont have the older birds to do it so they send to the inland ( patience is a virtue)now that could be the reason they never progress to the further races as they start to consentrate on birds to do well at that distance and we all know that they type normanly dont progress to what is needed to go to the 500/600 mile stage the experenced fancier with a team of good distance racers will use thease races as training/preperation for the big boys stuff if you score its a bonus
Guest madpup
For example if I where a shopkeeper ………… I run a traditional camera shop, dedicated to the pursuit of high quality images developed from film cameras. It is a lofty ambition specializing for the purists. If for some reason, however, despite what is said by the customers in winter time “I only believe in true shots from film cameras†,etc, the balance sheet appears to indicate I only make a profit on so called lightweight digital camera’s should I take the moral stance this is a purist camera shop or face the reality my pursuit is actually being in some way part funded by the selling of digital camera’s or do I just decide to go bust and stop selling the digital cameras ? My belief is the shopkeeper would be grateful he could guarantee to keep his shop open and be grateful he can still participate in his specialism for which he founded the shop (He may even give a cynical smile when selling the digital cameras but …) Indeed if you keep some digital camera owners happy you may just spur an interest in “real†photography and they will also invested in the film camera. I do think people have forgotten this is a sport crying out for modernisation, economies of scales. To some extend classic racing is a form of the future. Personally I would rather all races over 300 miles where nationals (or at least combine races) Yes very well put mate, digital camera are the future, you may not like it, but its got young people interested in useing them and thats what these lads have to do look to the future, I am even supprized they use a pc as I am sure one day they would have said they would not use one. the devils work ;D ;D ;D ;D

Guest bigda
the way i see it, which could happen now is, the national having 5 more inland races and they then, can become the Scottish fed for all no need for 2 memberships every one in it do away with all the other feds, except the Lanarkshire of course as we are the it ;D lanarkshire would have the 250 members it needs to flourish ;D with out the added burden of having Pilgrims with them.
