tiger Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 Are we going to be sticking to the dates Or perhaps the SHU should give us guidance?? It's as clear as mud get your finger out and let us know
Adee1888 Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 they will be waiting on rpra doing the spade work
Dooheed 5 Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 Its has been widely publicised that bird gatherings is still prohibited and Im sure they’ll let us know soon enough if it changes
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 Travel restrictions don't ease until 26th April. If gatherings have been allowed by then, we will be OK. A lot depends on the general licence being granted.
Arranview Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 expletive remove we've had Cheltenham races ,horses transported all over and we're worried about going to a couple of short races lol ,I'd just carry on regardless let's face it whats the chances of the transporters getting pulled ,unless one of our own stick us in which I wouldn't bet against

Arranview Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 Elite Sports not for us commoners lolWe can only stop ourselves as let's face 99 % of folk don't even know what we do for a sport, mind my labourer asking me one Friday what I was for doing at the weekend, I told him I race pigeons and he actually thought I ran along side them lol
DJL Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 The SHU have issued regular emails to federations. The latest sent last week is that bird gatherings are still prohibited until the license is reinstated. This applies to the whole UK. The COVID restrictions vary between countries and travel restrictions in Scotland mean we must remain local. Horse racing is big business. Unfortunately pigeon racing is not. The SHU as governing body can’t advise federations to ignore government rules. Any federation which does would be doing so at their own risk. From past experience, trying to get advice from the Scottish Government or your MSP is a complete waste of time as they will only refer you to the advice on the government website.
Arranview Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 The Scottish government won't even know pigeon racing is a thing

Henrik Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 Its all down to the General Licence being renewed, the case for that wont have been helped because of the new outbreaks of bird flu being reported down South.
geordie1234 Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 They are only allowing poultry outdoors on the 1st of April...I think it will be like that for the whole month of April before any further relaxation happens
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 Single loft training is permitted as from today, suppose that is Scotland as well.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 Single loft training is permitted as from today, suppose that is Scotland as well. No, it is not. Single loft training in Scotland is not allowed until the 2nd April.
tyson Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 stick to the rules or you will not get raceing at all
