Bang a pic up.

Is it an olden or a youngen? Seem to be getting a lot of late bred strays in just now myself.

There needs to be some sort of permanent ring introduced that can be attached to the pigeon even if its past the ringing age. Ok it wouldn't/shouldn't be allowed to race on that ring. But there should be a ring database for pigeon rings for those who have missed ringing and are breeders or "pets" surely. Something less then a birth/racing ring, but something that wont fall off or break etc and is traceable. If the racing unions weren't so backwards this would have happened 10+ years ago :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang: Like all our "charity" raised money not being spent on reducing the bop and preserving our sport. :emoticon-0127-lipssealed::emoticon-0179-headbang:

A telephone number ring may have been on this bird and has somehow been removed ?

I will post picture tomorrow if I can on this site but it’s just 2 plain red and blue ez ring but no registered ring like su or gb etc must have been an escaped stock bird, but if it was my birds I would put my su rings on no matter if it’s racing or not. If I was late in the ringing I would put stamp on wing or telephone ring

Oh well looks like it’s mine now will use her for breeding

read your rule book regarding strays page 11 number 19

if you breed from her and the owner comes forward to claim her

you could be fined suspended etc etc

best to ask advice from shu

One of her parents came from Jim Croll, Dundee. Not sure if it was a stray or gift ?

Breakaway was also bred from a strag, but most strags are lost racing and have a life ring on their leg

Well if there’s no shu ring or etc just plastic ring then there’s no proof who the bird belongs to so their loss and my gain lol :emoticon-0136-giggle:
