Not much point in washing out your drinkers if your going to use something the is not washed out to fill them. I give all my drinkers a good wash then pop them into microwave for 30sec as this kills all.

3 of my hens pick up at europa classic sale by different fanciers have all went on to breed fed and sec winners including the 2008 RPRA yearling one loft race winner.

Going by your results so far you have a good team of young birds. These birds could go on to have a long and sucessful racing career so why take the chance for this one race. They are only young birds and good young birds at that, so take it easy with them.

I have had yearlings that where on the dark fly from france 480 to me. Some guys think they are not as good as they where as young birds. The problem is they no longer have the advantage they had as young birds.

The only way to find out if it can fly the distance is to send it. We have seen so called distance birds lost form 80 mile and so called sprint birds win 500 mile races.

What strain has not won a distance race?

No John Gerard has the best

Mike if you have a big bag of money I can get you direct Kees Bousa. Kees sold all his old birds and held onto 60 young birds. His old birds made over 700K. John Gerard has more direct Bousa pigeons than anyone else. John will be comming over to stay with me in the next couple of weeks so if you want some direct let me know.

Some times you will get the odd bird holding its last flight. Check all birds say 1st December, Put any birds holding their last flight back on 16 hours of light this tricks them into thinking it is spring again and they will start the molt where they left off by dropping this last flight within two weeks. As soon as they drop it put them back onto normal day light hours.
