  1. Very well done wee man, one to watch for the future
  2. Aye, the barbie and tinnies then the buzz of timing one in followed by more tinnies....... brilliant
  3. Interesting post Vic
  4. Possibly to give the very north of England lads an incentive to join. With regards to the SNRPC, they have nothing to do with the NFC hence they have nothing to worry about.
  5. Fully agree Gareth Crazy cramming those races in a short period of time, still licking my lips at the thought of Rennes night again......
  6. It is the NFC, nothing to do with SNFC
  7. What a title to the thread The magical racepoint could be back on the cards next year
  8. Noticed in the fancy press this week the agenda for the upcoming NFC Committee meeting, one item for discussion was to extend the Scottish section (M) to include part of England. Any thoughts........ good or bad
  9. Gutted for you Derek and your fellow members, another example of politicians ruining our sport. Had an enjoyable visit up there years ago for our club latebred sale, the fanciers up there made us all very welcome and it will never be forgotten.
  10. The RPRA is a union open to the entire length and breadth of the United Kingdom, it is far from an English only organisation.
  11. Agree 110% Bart, a fine post.
  12. One of the best long distance fanciers in Holland only see to their birds in the evening, they flag them for exercise and then they are fed, what is left over in the troughs does them in the morning.
  13. Our best Van Reet cock was bred from a Dean Pallat x Dave Allen pairing, he simply never put a foot wrong, winning many top prizes including 11th Open SNFC Vire 450 miles on a hard day. When he was paired to a hen bred by Keith Turner ( grand daughter Red Danial) they bred our best ever inland racing hen, winner of prizes galore including 1st Fed 220 miles and 5 Scottish national diplomas to her credit.
  14. I wouldn't mind a 1000 of those Tennet's lager cans of the 80's which had nice pictures on them. They are collector's items now and worth a few bob.....
  15. Will you be having a stall at Doncaster Stu Like the look of them
  16. No worries Bart, the world would be a boring place if everyone agreed with one another. I was speaking in terms of returns and not the result which clearly shows the SNFC birds romped it, perhaps the larger convoy attributed to this. In this day and age, the young bird question isn't so much 'what time you are in' its 'how many have you home' Cheers A fellow Bluenose
  17. We never sent to either race, however, after speaking to fanciers from both clubs I can sense the SNRPC race shaded it in terms of returns. Perhaps a day less in the basket and a superior transporter tells the story.
  18. The legendary 'Pest' of Geoff Kirkland Winner of 1st Open MNFC Angouleme and 1st Open BBC Nantes as well as other numerous top national prizes. His bloodlines have done very well for us.
  19. How about the SNFC Gold Award winners, each and every one of them well worthy of their title. One such winner this year raced by Jocky King. What do you make of the Silver Award, a good thing or bad.
  20. No Surrender, what a name for a doo......
  21. Jan Theelen, yet another top long distance racer from Holland. He won the Barcelona International in 1993 with a bird called Ricky, his family of birds spring upmore than their fair share of reds. As just mentioned, I am sure Stu will give more info
  22. McFly is a real class bird Mike and raced by a top drawer fancier
  23. John Hodgson's Starview Pegasus has to be admired. A SNFC winner and also the sire of an SNFC winner Sheer class
  24. Yes, Auld Reekie is in a league of his own , a truly remarkable pigeon and easily classed as the best in the UK. In terms of the second best pigeon in Scotland I wouldn't know where to start, there are dozens of them I could mention.
  25. John Millar is the man. He collected a couple from me lastnight, excellent service
