  5. Entered them in the past and will enter again in the future. The best one was in 2000, it was run by Nigel Cowood, our bird flew well flying Picauville twice in 8 days, got him back and in the breeding loft he went Couple of downsides I see with them is people that advertise their birds with performances like 3rd Hot Spot, 5th Hot Spot etc, these are just training tosses..... secondly, would like to see a race from over the channel again
  6. Booked up for the weekend, always look forward to it. A great weekend

  13. We have a thread of feathered legs in our lofts, it stems from a 1986 Dutch golden breeding hen we had, evrything from her won, she is now in the blue sky above but many generations later birds with feathered legs are still winning in our lofts including our SNFC Newbury winner. Have even seen some birds to have small feathers on their claws.
  14. Well said mate, you took the words out of my mouth. We made our own, 4 inch peice of pipe with a cowl on the end and a bit of flashig / sealant, a fraction of the price ;)

  24. Can we get back to the subject of this thread please..... national young bird losses
  25. Bigda has kicked off a thread which has a serious tone to it but as expected squabbling is never far away ??) who cares what fed or which national we all fly in, the bottom line is this year's SNRPC / SNFC young bird nationals have been poor Thankfully we never sent to any of them but I do feel for the guys have lost a lot of birds..... and well done to those who all timed.... in both nationals I have yet to speak to any Solway guys about yesterdays race but last week there was 1/6 , 1/10..... we simply cannot keep on going like this.
