Perhaps both sides are too hasty. The new fancier wishing to get some birds, and the old hand over willingness to help them out. I think its really important to get to know the person you are helping, exchange phone numbers and have a good natter All new fanciers need someone to take them under their wing, offer advice, interest in what they're doing, time, birds and whatever else. It has been really good reading some of the posts by new fanciers who owe their participation in the sport to that person who helped them in. Indeed if it hadn't been some similar help and advice I would have never stuck it out in the sport, and what then, no Pigeonbasics :o ;D

The topic hasn't been removed or deleted, it's only been moved to the Pigeon Politics board. You can still post on it, can still view it, and it still comes up on the portal. I dont see the problem here? :-/

Have now replied to all the entrants that I've had through. Not long got back from Dunoon, didnt expect that many to do! Will post up class for judging in the morning. Night!!

I am more than happy to produce the petition sheets, and help co-ordinate to take this further. HOWEVER Are we tackling the issue on the angle of: pigeon racing should be classed as a sport (and as such able to get dispensation for this new tax) we are against this new tax The media have portrayed this story that pigeon racing has just lost sport status (and now liable for this tax), however its the introduction of this tax that is the changing factor, because we are not recognised as a sport.

I have split the topic as points posted are valuable, and 1) may be missed in the birds for sale topic, 2) are going to get in the way of the member selling his pigeons.
