Historically Pigeonbasics has held an auction every year since 2005 when we raised over £1400 to send one very ill little girl to Disneyland. Last year we saw the creation of the Pigeonbasics Fund and members raised a fantastic £3,120 that has helped a number of fanciers in their time of need (arson and other criminal attacks). This year monies raised will again go into the Pigeonbasics Fund, in order for it to continue in the good work already started in 2007. If you wish to donate, a pair of youngbirds, oldbirds, stock birds, or anything else, please PM Webmaster, Saleman (an account created to take the bids for the auction) or post a reply to this topic. Please include as much detail as possible regarding your donation - it makes a drastic difference to the auction. E.g. Strain, significant parts of the pedigree, race results, and your flying name and organisation. Indeed you dont need to be a member to donate, please forward this link to friends and fanciers (there is a recommend link at the bottom of this page) to make this the biggest and best auction yet If we could have donations in by this time next week (17th Feb) in order for the auction to commence shortly after then

Please stick to the general case. PMs being accepted in an auction as they are presently run, or not. Specifics in the recent stem of this topic will be dealt in that topic and not here.
-
Lets not run with this one before we have heard from Stuart. If you wish to discuss wether or not to take auctions bids by PM, please start another topic in the meantime.

Photos are the takers copyright, as a member previously said. If you have respect for Steph I would have thought that you would have respected her decision to leave the site to leave these 'problems', and finally put them to bed. I have never been informed of any harassment or any other complaint; and I expect the people directly involved will inform me if this indeed has been the case. As we have been taken so far off topic, I shall now lock it.

The message you're getting is because you have a post count of less than 10. Post a few more times to other sections of the forum and it'll disappear The post count block is there to deter people from signing up to the forum soley to sell items. Richard

Make sure your password and secret question/answer are as cryptic (read secure) as possible. Not many realise that the secret question is as vulnerable as the password - it enables you to reset the password. Even change your passwords every few months, and don't use the same passwords for multiple sites. Hope this helps

Unlocked again for you jimmy.

Thank you both for your comments. Topic hijacking isn't permitted on Pigeonbasics; and if members do encounter it, please click the 'Report to Webmaster' button which you can find next to every post. This will help me, help the moderators, help all members. I will endeavour to view and check every topic reported to me in this manner, at least once per day. As emphasised in a number of my recent postings on forum conduct, and forum changes, and brought up again here by Snowy. Please either use the PM system, the Chat Room, or another instant messaging program to conduct personal or private chatter. Richard -
I have not received any complaint over the free bird draw and as such rumours or here-say may be treated as false. If evidence to the contrary is brought to my attention, I will inform the members immediately. So I wish to nip this one in the bud. Stuart offered a bird in a free draw to members replying to be included in it. Stuart then duly made the draw and informed us all of the winner. The bird was to be picked up at Blackpool by someone appointed by the winner. Stuart on arriving at Blackpool noticed that the bird in question was in his opinion not 100% so with the appointed persons agreement he replaced the bird with one that was 100%. This is for the information of anyone who has not read any other topic regarding this issue. The chain of events are correct as far as I am aware, however I have not had any input into the draw, or bird, or collection.

Spot on. If the program came on a disk, install it on the laptop, and then on the PC create a backup of your details, then transfer this to the laptop and use a restore function to load this backup to the new machine.

You weren't alone, a book was 'half inched' from the stand on Saturday morning > It's a real shame that these people put a dampener on the weekend.

Hi all, Just got in and see the posts have already started about Blackpool ;D. I hope that everyone had a good time and a safe journey home. I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that come to the stand to support Pigeonbasics and were able to meet up with other members. I got to talk to a lot you and it was nice to put names to faces (or faces to names?) and meet the people behind the computers . Sorry if I didn't get a chance to talk to you - I don't think I've talked that much ever! Again thank you to everyone that donated to the fund - I'll count it all up and let you know how much we've all raised (once I find the tin opener ;D) All I can say is I look forward to next year! Richard + Gemma P.S. Will get the photos we took online as soon as we find the camera from that bags and bags in the car :-/
