I invite anyone to re-read the topic and please make note of my postings. I had updated members with what had happened, what was happening and what decisions were made, when they were made. This made little difference to what continued - I can only assume that they did not read it. The reason that the members will not be named is that they are of an age that to name them would be highly irresponsible, and I wish never to become the instigator of a witch hunt, which would be the obvious outcome. Unfortunately some people are not mature enough to realise the consequences of trying to artificially rase their vote, and indeed to them it may be all in jest. However the most troubling thing for me was the constant distrust of my opinion and credibility in dealing with the matter. I do honestly feel that this was one of the darkest days for Pigeonbasics; and that was nothing to do with cheating - those with longer memories will remember when cheating happened before. It was this 'disgusting' behaviour that has undoubtedly ensured that any online show on Pigeonbasics would hold zero credibility, and indeed this sorry affair would be worn around the neck of any competitor, or winner. In the end there was no decision to be made, the online show was dead and buried. I wish no longer to labour these points nor to keep these accusations of censorship seemingly fueled. If anyone does have any questions, thoughts or feelings of Pigeonbasics or my running of Pigeonbasics I would certainly like to hear of them via PM. I will endeavour to answer as best I can anything they wish to ask. Reply to David L: I used your quote as the first part of my message was in response to your point - which had sadly been forgotten by the time of my posting. The latter parts of my post was my message unrelated to your posting, and if it seemed that this part was also directed at you, I apologise, this was not my intention.

Your right, it's not going to happen. Anyhow DoveScot the fact of the matter is that wasnt the reason the shows were cancelled.

Here forthwith the online shows are cancelled. It is very sad that two entrants decided to artificially add votes for themselves; however even more disgusting the behaviour that has followed. And that is the reason for the cancellation. I do hope that these members - most of which were not even entered in the competition - are happy with their actions. You have collectively made a mockery of other peoples hard work in getting their pigeons ready, going out and taking some excellent photographs. In 6 years I have built this site from scratch, I have never felt so ashamed, and at the same time very sorry for the genuine people who have been caught up in this catastophe. From holding the first online show a number of years ago, I am glad that a number of sites have started holding them too, and I genuinely hope that they will not undergo the same contempt that has been seen here.

I would like to sample your opinions on the judging for the Online Show.

I personally agree with your comments above, however wanting to keep it a member vote, and wanting to stop the possibility of anyone cheating, the pull between good and evil has left us with a shade of grey. I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to post on this topic, I have read them all, and have taken them on board. The 100 post count limit was a quick fix to the problem, which needed immediate action (the first figure I pencilled in was post count of 250 :-/ ) The nature of the internet, the forum, and member account poses great problems in proving 100% the culprit(s), how ever obvious it may be where cheating has been undertaken. I have spent hours last night and this morning sifting through log files, votes cast, IP addresses and a number of other measures; and can now confirm that 4 birds will be removed from this weeks classes. However as the birds have been voted for again, the suspected birds will be removed when the poll closes (Sunday night); and an independent fancier will judge the pigeons also. A combination weighting of votes and this fanciers opinion will form this weeks class winners. The remaining classes (from now until Blackpool) will continue, and be judged in different way - which I will consult your opinion under a separate topic.
