Wondered about the same thing as I set it up. But I thought you guys would have jumped at me pointing out *black*listed in red ;D As Dark_Chequer points out, the default member colour is a dark blue so it *is* (albeit slightly) different. The clearest way of getting the blacklisted message over is that the word 'Blacklisted' appears twice, the second time with a reason next to every post that the member has made. I feel that in total this is clarity enough. -

The, Post Groups [Veteran of the Loft!!, Oldbird, Squeaker, Hatchling, In Egg!!! (Newbie), Chipping] are indications of the length of time that anyone has been a member of the forum. Nothing more, nothing less, I just worded them in pigeon terms. The Sprint Specialist, Distance Fanatic, etc., is much the same, just for fun, a little way to differentiate your membership, and converse with likeminded people if desired.

Webmaster replied to majorpet's topic in Website News, Views & Computer Related Info
Majorpet It is quite clear, if not already obvious, through the Code of Conduct that the allegations and remarks made by the member 'majorpet' towards another member on Monday 8th October 2007 are totally unacceptable. For reference majorpet made remarks about another Pigeonbasics members opinions posted to another website forum. The alledged remarks were to the negative impact of Pigeonbasics; however majorpet then went on amongst other things, to try and intimidate this member to terminate their membership of Pigeonbasics. Majorpet has been Blacklisted for 1 week from now. -

The List of ring Numbers Please send your results for these birds if you wish to claim as soon as possible to fund[at]pigeonbasics.com. -
;D ;D I'm not aware of rats in my front room 'Website News & Views' is the place to post ideas, I'm not guarenteed to read every other post on every other board. We all have our 'dafty' moments, and I wouldnt hold them against anyone. The members are one of the sites biggest assets.

I'm glad to see that some good ideas are coming from this. I have taken, Ian's and Wayne's ideas and will definately be persuing the viability of putting them into practise. Paul (invincible_spirit); I dont want to go into too much detail of how - when the needs arise - I trace movements around the forum, and the relation between member accounts. It is with keeping this information on Coxy's account that seriously helps the process. Banning/removing him from the forum could be alikened to; being in the front room, switching off the light, putting sunglasses on and then expecting to find the dog!

Hartlepool Arson Fund Payout
Webmaster posted a topic in Website News, Views & Computer Related Info
I'm happy to announce that the second payout from the Pigeonbasics Fund has been made. Bob Collin from Hartlepool tragically was informed on 3rd June 2007 that his 40ft pigeon lofts had been set alight. Bob lost the loft and the 115 birds housed, which had been racing from accross the channel only 2 weeks prior. Further information was given in the local paper, Hartlepool Mail article. Recently Bob sent me a card which read in part; "Just wanted you to know how much I want to thank you and to let you know that with your help I will be flying pigeons again next year." On behalf of the committee I wish Bob all the best in the comming months rebuilding his team, and every success for next year. Richard -

** Jamie Cox - Coxy - Blacklisted **
Webmaster replied to DOVEScot's topic in Guidelines, Help & Advice
As I note a number of people have already stated. Banning a member isn't necessarily the best course of action. If you block access to a member account it is a two minute process to sign up again under another name. Thus the member is now 'underground' and this makes identification a whole lot harder. With regard to banning an IP address, sounds perfect however doesn't actually work due to the nature of the technology which I shall not go into here. Making members aware of this (and previous) situations with a member, and then the community is able to 'track' this person and their future actions. -

Having read through many of the posts regarding this sorry matter. I will assist DoveScot and any other member in any way possible in taking this matter to the relevant authorities. However I cannot facilitate the witchhunt that seems to have persued. And as such I am asking for all members to please refrain from posting any personal contact details. Hounding the parents of Jamie is not going to help, and indeed only lowers ourselves to the level of the original 'crime'. DoveScot and others; I will be in contact later this evening. -
Photos sent into me.
