I have contacted the owner of racingpigeonform.com - as far as I am aware this was not the person who provided the link. Racingpigeonforum.com hasnt been closed down, check the url. What was the virus contained in the file? I've tested it on several virus scanners and nothing has come up.
  3. I've been asked if I know anyone who will be willing to attend a school fete in East Lothian on Saturday 19th May 2007. The idea is to take a basket of pigeons; visitors will 'buy' a pigeon from viewing in the basket, and later on in the day the pigeons can be released - the first home's 'owner' would win a prize. The rest of the money will go to school funds. If anyone is interested I will be able to pass on details.

  6. Splitting, merging, moving topics are done for a reason, like the forum is categorised for a reason. It hasnt been long that the redirect link (on the moved page) has been appearing - it was a new feature to the forum around Christmas time. We can move the topics to the relevent section and leave the link for you, or move them and not leave the link (and you wouldnt know to complain ;D). The links are left to help you out.... Regarding banter; a large degree of banter will be left on the Chit Chat board - I dont have time to read it anyway - but the rest of the forum is for discussion and debate; keep the banter on the Chit Chat board, and we wont have to move, split or remove any (read many!!) of your topics

  9. I've spoken to Jimmy, and had messages from other parties. I suggest that we all take a step back from the issue and reassess the old rope that it all stems from; and ultimately what's changed? Messages of this nature wont be tollerated on the forum, and other threatening behaviour will be treated the same. I shall lock this topic; if anyone has any more to say on this matter; please contact me via the PM system, or email at the usual place.

  12. Further to my message above. I spoke to another of my clubmates last night and 10 pigeon lofts (all on the same alotments) were broken into the night of the story above; damage was done, but Geds were the only birds killed. The story went in the local paper after a day or two, and that night 5 pigeon lofts were broken into on the alotments again. He said it gets to a point where you walk down the lane towards the alotment looking to see if your gate is already open :-/

  14. Have only just got around to read this topic and view the story. I feel devistated for Ged and all the work he and his dad put into the pigeons. I timed their cheq pied cock three years back on the second day from Bourges, to take a prominent position in the UNC result. I feel doubly sad that this is another clubmate of mine that has had an attack on their loft or birds this year. Its a club of around 20 members, and in the last few months we've had 1 members loft burnt to the ground and now this. I'd like to thank again to everyone involved with the auction; this is the type of situation we will be trying to help with.

  18. A scan could be a '.tiff' file; if you go into your scanning software and save the image as a 'jpg' (Save As, then one of the options will be file type). It will ask you for compression which between 70 to 80 would be sufficient. This 'jpg' file should fit on the forum no problems. It is because scanned files are very large (have you noticed a picture on the internet taking a long time to come up); and the tiff file format stores every detail of the scanned image it is required to convert to jpg (which uses compression) to make the image 'portable'.

  21. What type is the document? Text, picture...? If you would like to send the document to me, [mail]webmaster@pigeonbasics.com[/mail] I can check it out and send it back to you, or upload it.
  22. I have changed the settings on the calendar so that anyone who has posted more than 500 posts (a Pigeonbasics fan) is able to post public events. This I would like to fall in with a move towards user contributions as in the web 2.0 model. If your club, you, or someone you know are holding a pigeon event; it is easy for you to add that event to the Forum Calendar. This will give you some publicity for the event --> hopefully more as I integrate the new Pigeonbasics As such I have edited the post counts needed to be in each of the post count groups (Veteran of the Loft, Old Bird, etc) - higher.
  23. More than £2,000 in bids so far. Lets have a final push in the run-up to Sunday
  24. There was a problem with the DNS (as far as I can tell) - Pigeonbasics.com pointed to the wrong place. Our DNS is provided by our webhost - I will be notifying them.
  25. Good spot westy :) It's a new feature on the forum, to have custom attributes for the members centre, so I was just trying it out. However at the moment the information isnt displayed on your public profile - maybe soon! :)
