  1. If you mean by instrumental yes I was the secretary of the F ed. and had the job of finding out all the details and organising the building of all South Lanarkshire Fed. Transporters and I think I am well qualified to make a judgment and as I have already said I prefer wicker baskets ina a transporter with a corridor. By the way the the decision to go for the Geraldy was not recomended to the members they were told the decision was ENTIRELY theirs.
  2. Get your facts right Derek I did not push for SL to go for Geraldy transport that was entirely the members decision at the AGM the president made that very clear at the time.
  3. Long may the SNFC continue with wicker baskets they have stood the test of time, far superior to aluminium crates.jmo

  6. One of the best performances in the race when you consider how far west this bird flew into a cold west wind, well done lads.
  7. Fantastic record over many years with a small setup good on you Davie.
  8. a very well done to you & your dad on timing your good hen to win its award and take a very good position in the race.all the best for the remaining national races.
  9. Great to see the birds lying down contented in the wicker baskets, long may it continue, btw the birds. Returning from Maidstone were in excellent condition. J

  11. Will you pick up from Carnwath if so what time?
  12. Del I'm well aware of the huge problem with BOP but the point is will we not get that problem whether it be Huntingdon or any race point I had 5 birds in the first 100 National and two of went down in a mid week race from Dunbar the following season so it happens to us all,we just have to hope for better luck next time as their is not much we can do about it IMO.
  13. Yes Stuart that was a point I was going to make were all the birds entered in the race fit for the task in hand,I'm sure a good percentage would be bred from sprint family's or not properly prepared for 300 odd miles on a hard day jmo. PS. My three Tours hopes were at the race and in the clock.
  14. Stuart good pigeons get lost from anywhere,as for the race being to far for that time of year we used to fly Avranches on that date and you never heard the diehards moaning about losses or wanting to shorten the distances. Well done on your win yesterday,I've one of a sister of Karens girl going to Tours everything going well fingers crossed.
  15. Yes but the great SNFC was looked upto over the the British Isles because of its high standards I'm afraid this no longer applies due to the lowering of its standards like I've said before I will never go along with shortening race points and am against inland so called Nationals.
  16. Why not make it Kelso looks like we're heading that way
  17. Great results Davy keep it up for the rest of the nationals.

    Transport

Derick the point I was making that the clock debate was entirely different to transportation, as far as the debate about crates and baskets I am only giving my preference.
