    Race Numbers

Wings 04, Birdage of 150 to 200 birds, members 10 to 12, in the fed birdage 1800 to 2000 birds, we won first 4 races in club and in the fed we did not figure in first race, in second race we were 1, 2, 3, with 1801 birds, third race we were 1st, 2098 birds, next race we were 2nd 2066 birds, hope that answers your question.
  9. Pigeon is probably just tired and dehydrated, needs rest, food and a drink, if you touch it wash your hands before going to your own birds, and just see how it is in a couple of days, you usually find they begin to pick up all at once.

    Race Numbers

We only race 12 cocks, I started at my new address in 2003 young birds, and out of the 12 cocks 6 have 1st prizes minimumof 2 x 1sts at club level and some have won 1st fed, I do not want a large team, quality rather than quantity and no blind treating, only treat when they need treating that is what is killing our birds, you would not take an asprin if you did not have a headache so why do it to your birds, I know about the argument that not all fanciers keep their birds as well as you do but if you can build up their constitution they should have better natural protection, I am hearing fanciers already saying they have lost so many birds well we have not lost any, I am not telling anybody what to do with their own birds as that is their choice but just sit and think about it for a minute and you will see it makes sense. Good racing to everybody and healthy pigeons make the job so much easier.
  11. We were 1st & 3rd from Yoevil 179 miles, thats 5 out of 6 we have won, we have also been 1st, 2nd & 3rd Fed, followed by 1st fed week after and 2nd Fed week after that could not have wished for a better start to a season.

    Returns

We were at Yoevil, strange race really clocked after 3hrs 21 and then waited 8 minutes for next one and then 7 in 5 minutes.
  13. Our run came to an end after winning the first 4 races and topping the fed twice and 2nd fed, we were way off the pace, don't know what happened as they came well enough 9 out of 12 in 4 minutes, well as I have said many times you can't win them all and there is always next week.

    UPDATE ON MY DAD

Keep your chin up and think positive, good luck.
  21. I think birdage can be deceiving, in our club most members only keep a few birds as most live in property with small gardens, we only have 1 member who flies on an allotment, most of the others send between 10- 15 birds, I have seen results were 6 members have sent 240 birds but does that make it a good club, not necessarily even though the birdage is high for the membership, so thats why I think birdage is deceiving.
  22. Agree with that Vic, in first race we were 1st when 7 members sent 119 birds and in the second one we took the first 3 when 10 members sent 169 birds. Paul
  23. Sent 12 to Ludlow 80 miles had 3 together 1st, 2nd & 3rd, that makes it 2 wins from 2 races dead chuffed.
  24. Westy, As long as it is not raining or damp it will not do them any harm, pigeons love fresh air, I used to take an open race to Plymouth which is 226 miles as the bird flies and I did have a cover over the top but nothing covering the sides and people at the lib site were amazed at how much better the birds from this race cleared compared to the transporters.
  25. scrape out all lofts every day, in my opinion by far the best.
