Hi mate, they are 2000 birds but have only been very lightly bred from, they filled all there eggs in 2007, I live in Wigan.Lancs. Paul

I have 16 pairs of stock birds but only race 12 cocks so as you can tell some of the birds are not being used to their true potential so I have decided to part with some. In 2007 we won 9 x 1sts club and 3 x 1st Feds with old birds. The pair of Lemputteens were purchased from Mark Glossop of Rotherham when he finished in the sport, they have bred winners for me and others, a cock in my race team at the moment has won 1st Swainswick, 1st Swainswick again, 2nd Cheltenham, 3rd Mangotsfield 9th Fed, 3rd Frome, 3rd Cheltenham 24th Fed, 4th Cheltenham 16th Fed, 4th Cheltenham some of the lower positions he was beat by loftmates, a sister was given to a friend of mine and bred a bird in the first nest to be 2nd club 2nd Fed and has gone on to breed others also a grand daughter of the stock pair was 2nd club beaten by loftmate. I am asking £75 for the pair. The pair of Marcellis were purchased from Paul Donelly of Manchester and have also bred winners for me, a cock in the race team was 1st Cheltenham 2nd Fed, 2nd Penkridge 5th Fed, 3rd club 20th Fed and 5th club, a sister was 1st club Hereford, and another brother was 3rd club 8th Fed Poole. same price as the above £75 for the pair As stated above with only racing 12 widowhhod cocks only a few birds have been bred off these 2 pairs but they are breeding winners, I am carrying over 9 birds in my race team all are 1st prizewinners so something has to give, These birds have also not been pumped full of antibiotics and have natural resistance as I have my birds tested by Gary Spavin and use his herbs and only treat when necessary, if you are interested pm me but I am going out at 20-15 so will not be able to answer any questions until tomorrow. We race 12 widowhood cocks, won 9 x 1st clubs, 3 x 1st fed old birds only my fault is if I see a bird and I think it will enhance my loft then if I can afford it I will buy it, so we have 16 pairs of stock birds, so we let friends have youngsters to try off them as we cant possibly try them all. Paul

Think in this day & age of allsorts of diseases people chase them off rather than get them in and report then, afraid to bring anything into their lofts Paul
-
Have a rest and just do the basics to make sure the birds are healthy and refresh myself for next year.
-
Go to Wickes or B & Q you will get one for a lot less, last time I saw them in wickes, wet & dry hoover was £39.
-
Red Rose fed last race this week from Kempsey although we haven't sent for the last 3 weeks.
-
Paddymac, we are same as you use young bird racing for experience mainly, we don't do dark so birds are too far in moult to go to last few races, we started training 25 but after a couple of bad races we are down to 13 and we know 1 is dead. Keep saying we will have a real go with the youngsters but when time comes round it just seems too much trouble.

Go to Blackpool and tell me people can't afford them prices, they pay that and a lot more for anything from Holland & Belgium with a ring on and we all know most are crap, they bring them over here because the British fancier is a mug, they know they cant sell them at home because the fanciers know they are rubbish, if you go to a stand at Blackpool and there are 100 pigeons on it and of these 10 are foreign rung I would be 99% certain that they would be the first 10 sold, as stated the price is there buy or not thats your choice.

Try The Hollies, Albert Road. Paul

I use Gary Spavin of Lancaster, stay well clear of Lizzie Rigby cost me a fortune once for her to tell me what I hadn't got, thing was wanted to know what I did have.
-
Tammy, My fault missed them, bred some for a mate of mine and I missed these but he didn't want them without rings. They were too old by the time I found out. Paul
-
These birds are now back up for offer person who wanted them too far away and Amtrak is too much for him. The sire is a son of a pigeon with 5 x 1sts & 1st Fed, the dam is a daughter of a pigeon with 2 x 1sts, 1st fed, 3rd fed, 9th fed, 10th fed & 11th fed. I have no room for them as I only keep 12 widowhood cock s and I already have 16 pairs of stock birds( too many I know ) 2007 old birds only 9 x 1sts, 3 x 1sts fed. I am in Wigan. Paul
-
Birds now promised.
-
I have 2 youngsters ready in about a week, they are unrung but are too good to kill, the sire is a Vandanabeele cock whose father has won 5 x 1sts and topped the fed (M & D Evans lines) the dam is off a grandson of Paul Beaumont's "Nearly man" a winner of 12 x 1sts and the grandson has topped the fed for us this time and has also got other Fed positions. These are FREE to anyone that wants them as long as they either collect or pay carriage, you won't be dissappointed. Paul

Even I could read it, next thing I'll be able to text.

There is a video by Rick Mardis of USA on the light system, don't know where you would get it from though. Paul

If its a stock pigeon then surely its got to be its breeding record, because it does not matter about the other two, obviously its nice if it has all three but at the end of the day its there to breed winners, if it has the other two but does not breed good pigeons then its no good as a stock bird.

Train just the same.
-
Maybe they should deport them over here because we will get no change from the RSPB that their poor hawks are not to blame for the demise of the bird populationa nd they can't possibly kill racing pigeons, shouldn't prosecute should give them a medal.

I only ever take 4 thimbles out with me, so I can only clock 4 which I don't always do anyway, but if you accept their entry fees whether you like it or not they are entitled to clock them all as they pay for them, alright it may not be the best thing to do because as said this is how clubs disband but in the long run they are cutting their own throats because there will be no clubs to fly in or they will be refused membership in clubs once their own clubs disband and if they can't see this they are blind and as stated I would not want to be positions that my birds have not won fair and square.

Red Rose fed at Portland 206 miles for us.
-
Tony, If I was you I would get hold of a couple of videos and maybe Dave Allens Widowhood book and pick out what suits you because what works for one does not work for another.

Wings I am not getting at you but I put on a post here before and Vic Questioned the same thing about birdage etc, and I reposted the result with all the details, I agree with you that there are fanciers who to be honest do not put numbers and if you look in the results section of the BHW or RP you will find the reasn why as you said poor birdage and if you look hard enough some of these fanciers are selling youngsters at top prices, in fact I applaud you asking the question because a lot of fanciers don't and pay the price. Good luck to all for the rest of the season.
