25% of flyers lost is a big hit but how much will it be offset by people coming back to the sport. Also are these people going to leave because of ETS or are they just looking for an exscuse to leave the sport anyway. Now dont take this the wrong way but the majority of fanciers i have met just want something to moan about and its my belief that if ets comes in these people who are going to leave the sport will stay in the sport and find something else to moan about. It is also a good exscuse for other people to moan why they arnt winning eg:"Well how can i compete with that guy he has an ets" when in reality the same guy has been getting beat by the ets flyer for the last ten years. I can agree with the argument over the sprint racing when timing in is everything between a card place maybe they should limit one bird per second for race's below a cetain distance.Anyway just my two penneth worth it will not effect me much either way as i will still be near the bottom of the race sheet for a season or two yet till i start to get to grip with the basics of pigeon racing.Still its more about seeing the birds come home for me .A card would just be an added bonus.

Not to be rude but they just look like light reds to me. Ive never seen a yellow though

The way to go is fight fire with fire mate like yearling said in last post ask for minutes of the meeting and so forth. If all else fails mate look into starting a new club i'm sure if you was to write a letter to the BHW and explain there is no clubs for you and your lad then someone would open a boundry for you. Cant believe how bad they are treating you mate .I would have come to full blown fisticuff's by now Hang in there and do it all properly mate .Good luck

matrix every other day and a good breeding mix(versalaga for me) with g10's mixed in , fed three times a day the first two feeds for fifteen mins all they can eat the last for an hour all they can eat.I put youngsters on floor between two-three weeks old and they were eating themselves within two day's as well as all the old birds feeding them.Had a lot of comments on how well bred the youngsters are.(My first time of breeding)i got all the tips of this forum and put together what worked for me.I weaned all my youngsters into young bird loft at about four weeks.

you may laugh but i think he may have been on the right lines for sprint race's all athletes use weights to train to some degree. Its just where to put the weights that may have been the problem.

ive got two young lad's a couple of doors away from me who fly birds .Lets just say if they get any of mine in i wont see them again.I have had to invest in padlocks because of them .Ive also let the dog go for one of them when he was in my garden he almost cleared a six foot fence with my dog just missing his rear. The parents are ok people but just blind or choose to be blind over the kids and apart from a full fisted confrontation(which i did put down as an option to the parents) i couldnt see an end to it .I then got speaking to one of em and went and had a look round his loft with him he seems to be calming down now he has turned 15.They was both in trouble all the time but age seems to have calmed then down a bit.All being said i still leave the dog out all day and i'm not taking the padlocks of me shed just yet.I think it was the chat with the parents that sorted it out though.Something along the lines of if your kid is near my shed again i'm gonna give you a smack.

All great tip's guys thanks alot .Vic what a C.L.O capsule? The youngsters are really tame allthough i do like the idea of putting them on table so they associate lifting with kindness.I used to handle them every day after they was a week old just so they would get used to me.All in All they seem to have settled well and after checking them this evening all seemed to have corn in them and looked content.I may switch to the maple peas for a few days as they do seem to be picking out the small seed and leaving the big bit's.Again thanks alot guys this site and the people on it has been such a great help.

i had one in my last house it was a total waste of money. One day i actually had a cat scratching itself against it.The cats would sit on the shed so the dog couldnt get em and try and get in through the sputnicks .Tried everything from cat deterrents to lemon rind around the shed(Cats dont like the smell appantly). If it happens again i am just gonna make a cat trap and take em to the cattery and tell the owners where they are so they can pay to get em back.See if they like paying for not looking after the pets.

Got to agree with roland on this one its all about airflow and ventilation.Likewise with the youngbirds being exposed to germs early to create a good imune system.Dont get me wrong i dont think you could pack em so tight as they cant move but pigeons do group together and are very touchy feely animals that love close interaction and contact with others of there own flock.

now i'm new to the sport and never flew anything over 280mile but i would think in the sprint race its more to do with the skill of the fancier whilst longer distance the pigeon itself takes on a bigger role.Ive often heard people say anything can win a sprint but it takes something special to do 500 mile on the day.
