I took a dividing wall down in my shed to open the half up a bit when they was on egg's with no problems

Due to the bloody wind me roof has gone fly away's on me new shed .Just lucky me stockers aint in it yet.

Like ive stated before when your a beginner like myself the pedigree is all you can go off.Yeah i can say thats a good looking bird and feels nice but i dunno if its any good so the pedigree is all i have to go off.yes people lie and yes the basket will be the real test in the end either way.But on another side note how many champion pigeons breed crap? at least if the pedigree is there to look at you can see whether the results are there through the generations of the family.

How much should i up the food intake of my birds while they are rearing youngsters.And how often should i feed them.Feeding once aday at the moment (as much as they want for 30 mins or so)but they allways seem hungry so i am putting a bit extra in each box in the morning and also of a night a few hours before lights out .All the youngsters seem fit and healthy up to now(a week old) but i am more worried about the parents not getting enough.Any thoughts would be helpfull thanks.

Aye but what has a beginner like myself got to go on?Its ok saying go to the best local flier but most of the flyers around my way are to scared to give pigeons away or sell them because the competition may prove there not as good as they think they are. The pedigree has to be proven winners not just a strain.Things like bred for stock from such and such a pair is no good in my eyes.you want Dam won so many positions sire is a proven breeder and the likes.

I bought a Braspenning hen of G townley for 70 quid i think it was and he gave me her cock for free. The cock is a son of stapenzoon.Ive split the pair up and put them with my pair of braspennings from louella.Both have got a pair of big babies in the nest now so will be waiting to see what they do in YB season.Ive been told by eyesign people the two i got of G,Townley are really good eye's.Dunno whether thats true or not but the basket will tell .

Someone make a video game about pigeons .I dont beleive mob flying is the cause yes there is a lot of it going on but but what difference does it make if one flyer sends fifty birds or five flyers send ten each its still the same amount of birds.If your birds going to win it needs to beat all the pigeons no matter who sends what.I agree with Redfox to an extent in that the youth prefer to play video games well that and stand outside my front getting drunk.The route of the problem is most adults betwwen 20 and 40 still want to be kids and dont want responsibilty so there kids dont get encouraged to do stuff except playing on video games to get them out of the way and get out around the estate .Out of site out of mind. My lad is six and he is allways in the shed with me Yes he has video games and he does play out with his mates as well but its all in moderation. Bloody hell who put that soap box under me?

All the pigeon fanciers ive met seem to have an opinion but not everyone wants to hear it,but they go ahead and spout it anyway.I think thats what cause's the problems between fliers themselves and why when people give up they dont wanna come back.(among others) .what we can do to get new members ..We could have a two week break between old birds and young birds for family's to go on holiday then just extend the young bird races a bit longer that would be ok with the weather to in this day and age.Also we need to use the technology to help the sport and the last to things above all in my opinion that the sports needs is Glamour and a big sponsor.Glamorise the sport on tv comercials and get a big sponsor in.Didnt the New's of the World used to sponsor a race years ago? There are other news papers out there who jump on the idea if given a quick push in the right direction....THE SUN ,the peoples paper backing the peoples sport.......And the likes its no good having sponsors if theve got nothing to advertise on.

got 11 babies one died in the egg got another 6 hatching this week.I had to ring one today, the first one to hatch .I think he may be half osterich.His nest mate died in the egg so was expecting this to go the same way but totally the opposite up to now.

I'm led to beleive that pigeons can navigate using different methods, the sun being only one. If thats the case why do we only liberate on sunny days and why does everyone keep telling me not to train on cloudy and overcast days or if i do wait for a break in the clouds?I can understand if its raining i can even understand not training if its really windy but not cloudy and overcast .It could be just what people do around my way any thoughts please.

if i had any broke to this new house i would leave the door open and let em come and go as they please for a few hours each day. The old flier is probably just trying to help out with advice.Dont be rude just be tactfull and say something like " i just love to see em fly".Then again if he is winning out of turn follow his advice

Anyone have any pics of garden sheds converted to pigeon lofts? Ive just bought two, seven by seven sheds from b and q for the birds so looking for ideas .Im hoping to join them and make one ,fourteen by seven loft
