  19. Council site, not allowed dog which is a pitty! I'd love a big scary dog to keep them off, I have two geese which keeps people off during day, Even fellow fanciers are terrified of them haha, When i 1st got them council wasn't liking them and gave me 28 days to get rid, they don't understand the value of pigeons and the trouble we'd go to protect them, Atb Andy
  20. Totally agree, I have been told that people think it was drug addicts looking for stuff to sell to get a fix. if i was to catch them in the act they'd not want to come back i don't think. With the weather and stuff i haven't managed to fix the side up 100% im hoping to get it done over the weekend, at the min it's just a bit of a bodge but it'll do i think for a few days, Atb Andy
  21. Well, Most people i know fly ybs on darkness, Early bred ybs at that too. With doing this they have had great results. So your opinion of early bred ybs comes down to money and thats it. As for loses with ybs, It's not about when they was bred, if they was on darkness and whatever, It all boils down to schooling, If a yb is well trained, and fit and healthy you shouldn't go far wrong with it. Last year i bred 50 ybs, had a shocking yb toss which ended up me loosing one yb. I flew the entire yb season, Disposed of a few and still had 41 in loft at the end of the racing season. They was on darkness and it helped them. 2010, I wasn't on darkness, they didn't want to know about racing half of them couldn't compeat with they fully feathered darkness young birds which other club members was flying.
  22. How it makes someone a fool for pairing up early ill never know, If it was the case then there are alot of fools on here and in many of clubs, People pair up early because it works, and they use darkness again because it works. By using methods that work are not even foolish in any way. You been stuck in the 80's is alot more foolish than people pairing up early!
  23. I know mate, Can't do anything cheap! can't even go for a nice drive with the price of petrol, Half the people who complain none stop about the price of corn keep at least 150 - 200 birds, One bloke in our club keeps 120 ybs, 50 pair of race birds, 12 spare hens to race and then god knows how many stock birds, Feeding that lot i would complain!
