Hi Neil I'd be dubious on using it as a base mix, but it's dependant on your goals. For myself being predominately sprint orientated, as said in previous post I want to be in charge especially the protein content, as after Monday personally I want as little or as none protein content in my grain, as I then want high carbs and more importantly then carbs I want high fats. However there is a possibility you could use it, similar maybe to how you suggested, but with the amount of mixes on the market, you could achieve better and cheaper compositions from buying ready made grains. However no mix is perfect, hence the reason I try and offer 3 different brands and 3 different compositions to my breeders.
