  2. Don't be so fast as to blame other fanciers. I picked up a race doo at a bird park a few yrs ago, which was living feral with the streeters living there. I reported it and the guy almost accused me of keeping it in, it was in Such good condition, even though it had been out for 8 months. Told him, wish to damn I could get mine in such good nick. The beggar was shining, skin pink and clean, and not a fret mark on him!!!All they seemed to live on was wheat sold to the public to feed the birds.

  6. How did it end up there? Don't know of any fancier in Tenby, but there's a couple in Pembroke just along the road a bit if that's any help? Maybe try the Welsh Homing Union, always found them very helpful?

    Beans

Will ask my Dad if he knows of anyone doing them? I was getting them from Roger Sutton down in England, from my supplier down here, for £8 a 25kg bag.Couldn't fault them tbh.

  10. Didn't mean to start an argument with my reply. Only stating, or trying to, that nearly 20yrs ago a man wanted to include ''ONE'' race, that he, in his opinion, as an official at the time, was going to give a fair chance for most of the competing members throughout Scotland, and it got shot down. Now 20yrs on the man has been proved correct! Get him on here and ask him? I can remember a lot of posts on here objecting to Ypres being included to the programme at the time. Now, it's one of the most popular.
  11. Well Said. It was the last time it was raced from also. Jim O'Hara wanted it included the following year, but was out voted by the South Section who brought a bus load up to vote against it! Pity it took so long for everyone to realise this.

A Big Well Done to Scots exile, Rob Kerr of Gloucester, who won 2nd Open Tarbes this weekend with the same wee hen that won it last year, and was 4th the year before that. Fantastic result, Fantastic Pigeon.

    Well Done big man
  16. Tell them to keep an eye out for Gypsies! The French stopped using it year's ago because one of their drivers got attacked, trying to stop them stealing birds.

    Spray Paint

Don't want to stir up past arguments but a certain fancier had used a dip in the past in Nat races.
  18. Just out of interest, how many birds have you had returned injured by BOP from racing in the last few years? Not including training or flying around the loft. Been looking through the race sheets at mine, and have been averaging 6-8 over the last 4 years. Last year was the worst, when out of 7 birds that had flown 500mls the year previously, 5 returned Hawked,& out of the 2 remaining, 1 I stopped for stock before I lost her.Only one escaped injury. Not good odds.
  19. My Dad was asking me who is giving the best deals at the moment on getting grain delivered to central Scotland. As I don't get any of the doo papers anymore I said I would ask on here for him. He is looking to get between 10-20 bags to see him through the season. Thanks in advance for any help.
  20. Fantastic Work by all involved :scotland: This is the kind of news that the general public should be hearing about guys. Never heard of any raptor groups doing this sort of thing, have you?
  21. Hi Fifer,I live in Gloucestershire, so not a 100mls from The Forest of Dean. If you're not in a hurry I could bring it up to Scotland at Xmas?
  22. Well Done,especially getting the first 3.

    Shu Stray Centre

Have to agree the man does a great job,and a credit to the fancy. Don't know many other organizations that do this service? He must see and hear all sorts, sick, injured birds that shouldn't even be in a basket,no I.d.on them,he's even been accused of taking the ets rings off them?! He even got a GB rung old bird back to me that had been put in stray basket, and I live in Gloucester!

    Any Ideas

Sorry to hear that, hope that it didn't suffer too much? We forget at times just how much effort these wee bundles of feather put out just to get home.
