Hmmm No so sure. There are fanciers who take the view that celibate only during the racing season? I use a homemade kind of mix where the cocks and hens are split and never shown, then repaired to set for specific races? I have read of fanciers taking ybs early on and then racing DRY all season and descibing it as celibate? Diffo ideas from diffo fanciers? Lanarkshire and solway went together last season and I think evrything went to plan? The obvious prob with sharing these days is the diffo routes! We know little of the probs in the central belt down here but I am sure it will only take a few sensible folk on either side of the fence to get something organised?

I am quite sure Geordie that it will be less work as you are setting your main candidates for only a 4/5 week period? The rest of the season you have them seperate and you can make your own choice on motivation? This gives you birds to race on a sprint/middle prog that will keep therselves fit with no worries of nest condition. They will also keep in good nick easily with the minimum amount of effort from yourself? Off course I am not saying that you will be winning sprint/middle with your distance pigeons but you will be a damned site closer??IMO

Why cant they do both? Widow or celibate early doors then select the correct cycle for the distance races?
