  4. Well done Dave. Really nice guy into the bargain.
  5. Try Frank Baillie. He is on here and I'm fairly sure he kept his dad's business going.
  6. Good morning all.

  8. Just found it on the map. Some going getting pigeons into there. Best of luck Chris.
  9. Well done Chris.

  13. Good morning all.
  14. I have spoken with Michael Miller, Callum's son, and he has been so helpful to us. Not only do they fly into difficult terrain, but they are so dedicated to the fancy in general they do their very best. One friend had a pigeon chased by peregrines from one of our races. It ended up in Wick. They organised to transport it to Livingston, so he could collect it.
  15. Done. I know how difficult it is to fly the 200 miles from Thurso down into Ayrshire, so I do appreciate the difficulty these fanciers face EVERY week racing.
  16. Good morning all.
  17. Happy birthday.
  18. Rotated.
  19. Open or closed, ventilation is the key Chris. After you have decided and built your loft, you may still have to tweak it a bit until the ventilation is spot on. Fresh air costs nothing, it is said; heaters and ventilation fans cost electricity, so for me it is better if the ventilation works by natural convection.
  20. Good morning all.
  21. Happy birthday.
  22. W G Davidson was also a gentleman. Another similarity between them.
  23. W G Davidson lived in Kilwinning although he flew with the Ardeer Club and this is why Stevenston is mentioned. I moved to Kilwinning in 1969 and for me, W G Davidson's feat of timing a pigeon from Palamos in Spain was wonderous. To find out he had done it several times amazed me even more. It made no difference to me that it took quite some amount of days and even though my mentor derided the length of time it had taken as not being racing, I am still impressed, even to this day.
  24. Welcome to the site Herbert.
  25. Some good ones. :D
