I have never used them and whilst all these bad comments seem to continually appear I don't think I ever will. Too much hit and miss.

Nature always looks to achieve its own balance, that is the reason it is so difficult to breed a champion. By definition, a champion is the exception to the rule. Nature attempts to produce an even (mediocrity) state. Man's interference by unnaturally supporting peregrines has caused an abundance of them, however in an attempt to achieve balance, nature has encouraged one of their predators to emigrate from its main bases in Europe back across the sea to the UK. Certainly on this occasion more strength to nature. Hopefully while it is working on this balance it will miss me out and let me breed a champion.

Patio roses budding and beginning to open into flower. If these cold snaps with snow continue, I think nature will receive the message.

My understanding is the weevil is injected into the bean by the fly. When it hatches as a weevil it eats its way out and that is why you see the holes. Beans with holes in them should not have any weevils in them. The weevil may have eaten the germ and altered the feed values, but how significantly, I don't know. Not every bean will have had a weevil injected into it. I have heard of fanciers allowing the pigeons to eat the weevils as well as the beans, however I have not done this myself. At one time fanciers rejected these beans by the load and the grain merchant replaced them. Modern times have changed this practice.
