  6. Liege would be ok as would a breeding mix. The most important thing is to make sure they eat the larger grains from day one, sieve the small seeds/grains out of your mixture for the first week.
  7. IMO there's to many variables to keep to a regular feeding system (cold weather, a hard race previous week, how much energy they expend exercising, training). By far the easiest way to make sure they're getting what they require is to add a % of barley in their feed, if they eat all plus the barley they're telling you their appetite hasn't been satisfied. I feed them in pots in their boxes but have a try on the loft floor which I hand feed on if they require more. They'll tell you a lot by watching them exercise, if after 15-20 mins they land and remain motionless, preening themselves or drop down onto the ground picking around they've not been fed enough. Carbs heat the body.

  11. Theres a lot of Feds down here in the Essex/London area that use NWHU rings, posting up the ring numbers may help.

  13. I had my smash out of Newark last week Walter, IMO the racepoint aint no good. I've lost more good pigeons out of there than all the other racepoints put together................ and we only fly 114 mile from there.

  21. West Essex Fed at Newark 114 miles to me, sending between 19-24
  22. They do well down in the south east racing on the north road where velocities are generally lower than racing south road. I would say they're at their best when velocities are between 1100's - 1400's. Always best to look local and see who is winning with what on the course you choose to fly on.
