    Thurso

Wiley has a cock in the race which if finishes in the first 50 open result will go in the LNRC Hall of Fame, lets hope he can achieve it.
  2. I would take the old bird result........................... It would've beaten a stronger field.

    Thurso

I believe the NRCC are also at Thurso for a Saturday lib. 508 miles to me.

    Thurso

Weather permitting the LNRC & the Essex Combine will be liberating tomorrow (Friday) out of Thurso. Be careful training your youngsters.
  5. The way I look at it is when racing old birds your racing against fanciers established teams. The old bird teams are the pick of the lets say last 2-6 years of breeding/selection, you could say their best. Ask yourselves this: Is it best to buy in pigeons based on young bird results or old bird results? I'd go for the later every time.
  6. Agree or disagree? For what its worth I agree.
  7. Agree with this 100% also Resting pigeons is better than any cure/treatment/pick me up on the market.
  8. Am snookered at the moment, the youngsters are ready to be trained but can only take them afternoons and with temps in the high 20C's its had to be put on hold.
  9. I try at first to give a cock a hen that I feel complement each other, If they don't take to each other the cock gets to choose.

    Andy Murray

Well done Andy Murray Ah Well if you cant beat em..........join em
  12. I use to have Boeykens that had feather legs, many more strains throw them though.
  13. The only drawback would be the youngsters not casting their last flight. If this were to happen when they cast their first flight as yearling they will also cast their last flight too.
  14. What I wrote isn't about systems, more about whats best for yourself. Observing pigeons going through the breeding cycles, the moult and trying to figure out what makes them tick is best done being amongst them as much as possible, something you wouldn't be able to do as extensive if they were on widowhood or roundabout. Best of luck and remain patient.
  15. Good advice too.

  19. Cheers, hopefully it'll be here by then.
  20. Cheers. By the way, can you jab young'uns up? I'm to heavy handed.
  21. IMO they'll carry on going through a natural moult. Once they throw the first flight they'll carry on throwing flights, once they hit the 5th/6th flight they'll more than likely go through the body moult again.
  22. Well broken cloud, getting hotter & humidity is high. Will slow any race birds coming through the southeast for sure.
