For sprint racing I train them on the line of flight from the same spot, they become familiar with it and leave the basket and strike for home without even half a circle. I train only on fair days as I want to instill confidence into them. If the youngsters were going to be trained with distance racing in mind they'd be trained from all around the compass.
I race with the West Essex and believe there were 1085 pigeons liberated, the fed winner done a velocity of 1264ypm flying 71 miles with excellent returns all round. I finished 3rd fed in this race with a hen that also took 5th fed the week previous from this race-point.

Depends if they were both as bad as each other (no bullying) I think they should apologise to the members at the next club meeting, shake hands and get on with racing pigeons.
