  4. My club has a 2 mile radius. I’m situated 450 yds from the centre of the radius, only one other loft closer and the other 18 lofts scattered to the north, south, east & west of me. No favourable winds for me.

  13. Not a problem at all. The only downside I can think of is that it doesn't look as neat as felt but for practicality you cant beat them.
  14. Bitumen corrugated sheets.
  15. Coax your pigeons, never force them.
  16. The most pleasing race results for me are the ones where I’ve identified a squeaker in the nest that I believe has a little something about it and goes on to prove itself. Priceless.
  17. A very high percentage of top sprint fanciers would win out of turn with most of the strains mentioned on this thread, I’m convinced some fanciers would win even if they raced sparrows ;D. Pigeons for some is a business, the difference between winning with newer strains over the older ones is simple, its more profitable! So going back to the question re the best sprint pigeons, take a look at the older strains that represent more value for your money. If I had to choose one strain that’s stood the test of time (sprinting) and at the same time offered value for money it would have to be the Wildys.
  18. Against roundabout. Most that I know that race the roundabout system seem to get their cocks coming one year another year their hens but very rarely they get them both to hit form in the same year. For roundabout. You get to test your hens. Against widowhood. Cocks need the sun on their backs. For widowhood. The simplicity of the system, less time consuming.
  19. On a limited budget the best way is to obtain latebreds, the demand for y/birds at that time of year is at its lowest hence lower prices.
  20. Welcome JONSEY. Dagenham Essex here, flying my pigeons on the North Road.
  21. http://store.liverpoolfc.tv/products/souvenirs/giftsandmisc/beach-set/pid-28099 Every Arsenal Aston Villa Birmingham City Blackburn Rovers Bolton Wanderers Burnley Chelsea Everton Fulham Hull City Manchester City Manchester United Portsmouth Stoke City Sunderland Tottenham Hotspur West Ham United Wigan Athletic Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter should own one. ;D
  22. I think what your refering to is called a pin tail. I've heard of fanciers pairing pigeons together where ones top tail feather lays to the left to a pigeon that has a top tail feather laying to the right with the aim of breeding pigeons with the so called pin tail. Not for me I'm afraid.
  23. Sent you a pm JonesyBhoy.
