    One Eye Cold

Spit in it and have done. Agreed best is a smoker does it. Most likely you have a knot hole / nail hole, or some draught that is catching it'd eye.
  3. Have often said, and it is easy to bear out, seldom does the best pigeon, all things considered, win the race. The bigger the pool radious the more this is true. But one can't have a completely fair race... but there could certainly be a lot more levelling of the playing fields if .... But that won't every happen. Those in favoured positions make sure they are on committees that matter. They watch each other's backs and squeeze out any sign of fairness being formed. Those that try are out voted, get fed up with bashing their head against a wall to no avail. Now the shape of the Long Boat heading towards the Lib point is proven best. Longer rather than wider sections etc. But this will never be... Why? Because those in power want the also rans to bolster their' money pot. As for sections being better, to get some decent merit for those that have little, to no chance, of winning the big one, that is a no go. But a bit of savvy and looking at where birds placed / homed and the wind / conditions, one can soon sort out where the best bird(s) were. Yes, and sometimes it is the winner, though not often. And before any one offers such c$ap as to 'Work harder, get birds fitter and better etc. Don't. For those that are in favoured positions have bought or moved there and have their' birds conditioned, race fit and raring to go too. So you won't get yours better. May well be better than 40 - 60 of theirs, but the others will beat you!
  4. Think the main moans will be those that no longer enjoy the benefits of Westerly winds. Like when through F & M we flew Bejguim etc. The whinging and moaning was from those that believed - as to thought - that they had the right to be favoured and formed the MCCC Club etc. the letters to the BHW etc. because of that season were unbelievable, all soak with their tears. Certainly will have new names at the top, that's for sure, and those on the East side won't be saying 'Wind makes no difference... you have to try harder' now lol will they.
  5. J.a.m. I'm not saying or implying Froch is a Great as such, like the Monzon / Haglers / Robinson / Hearns / Lennards etc. But etc. Indeed he possibly boxing wise would be hard pressed to get in the British top 5, but above Calzaghe etc. of course. Euback / Ben :emoticon-0138-thinking: But his record is Great in the fact that he achieved and has better any others run against Top Contenders etc. Now as to whether you, me, or anyone else has doubts, or thoughts as to the abilty of these top contenders is another matter... one that can and has been said in every generation, indeed spere. One can only fight those RATED by the powers to be whether we agree of not. Froch in this respect has done that and more. Hence that is a Great achievement never ben DONE before.
  6. Have some eggs still to be hatched, and I fuly exspect them to fly the programme... some may well get lost etc. But not as many %tage wise as the Earlier bred ones that's for sure. as told several times by the IO'ld brigade 'Egg or young in May will fly all the way'! That is as true now as it has always been. Many didn't pair till April and took two rounds to fly them through.
  7. Are these the youngsters from new stock mucker? Always been led to believe it takes a little time to hold their youngsters and build a team. but achieved one gets to have a reliable team. That is if the birds are of the standard one wants and wished for. Mind I must say they look the buisness and in very fine fettle.

  9. Did hear tle that the weather was changing, and a such Eastlies will become the predominate winds. If that indeed does become the norm, then I can also see a vast amount moving to the west for a change lol
  10. One must agree that Froh was superb and an devasting force again on Home soil. Bute, a world champ with a 30 unbeaten record ... 24 stoppages, was the 'Smart's Money' choice with a record to prove it. Over 80% of all critics giving Froch no chance of a win. Frogh tooke some good shots to the chin, but again that showed what a good chin he has got, and certainly a hard puncher to boot, (pardon the pun Bute) which Bute had to succumb to. Well done Froch, proud of you. I'm proud also that a Brit holds, by 50% more than any other boxer worldwide ever, of fighting the top contender(s) with now 9 in a row. When one considers the Greats, and not so greats that never did anywhere near this, is some record to be proud of. 2012-05-26 167¼ Lucian Bute 167¾ 30-0-0 IBF super middleweight title 2011-12-17 167½ Andre Ward 168 24-0-0 WBC super middleweight title (supervisor: Bob Yalen) WBA Super World super middleweight title (supervisor: Guy Jutras) 2011-06-04 167½ Glen Johnson 166½ 51-14-2 WBC super middleweight title (supervisor: Chuck Williams) 2010-11-27 167 Arthur Abraham 167½ 31-1-0 vacant WBC super middleweight title (supervisor: Bob Logist) 2010-04-24 167¼ Mikkel Kessler 167 42-2-0 WBC super middleweight title (supervisor: Bob Logist) 2009-10-17 167¼ Andre Dirrell 167½ 18-0-0 Trent FM Arena, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom W SD 12 12x3 WBC super middleweight title 2008-12-06 166½ Jean Pascal

  15. Yes, but none that he has not fought, and ALL in a sequence of one after one TOP lad WHEN they were / ARE top of the game. Perhaps you know some that I don't. Not saying he's our best ever, just possibly most deserving and in reality is what ALL boxers should be made to do... Fight the best, and no ducking! So very many have and do... Mayweather too. They will and do fight as who amd when, and the excuses given which -- I wouldn't say swallow, the public / media let slip by but any person interested in boxing isn't. Yes they too will make a plausible sound of purse lips, but they know the truth... Often Money! Indeed the 'Media' promote and pass truth and replaces with 'Ifs and Whats'.
  16. Best of full screen of course. Enjoy. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120305.html
  17. A lot of truth there, but Froch has fought them all. Like he says, all records have a loss or two, or more. But when you look at the two who beat him, think Kessler retired after, but back provided he don't fight froch again lol and Andre Ward, a superb craftsmen. No won't go down as a great mate, but a lot better than most . Best since Ben / Eubanks of course. Then we look at some of the Middles that went up a wieght like Chris finnegan, and Kev was no slouch. Contee went up a wieght too. Sibson was a tough fighter. His dad was also a good pigeon man. Downes was a tough man too.
  18. A record most likely never ever to be beaten. Certainly far and away better that any other boxer at any weight throughout the history of the boxing, going back even to the bare knuckle days. He's fought every other leading contender and WORLD champ of 168lb of his era. Now it will be 9 con secretive opponents on the trot. Out doing Jimmy Brittains equalling 6 and Tommy Fars' 5. Yes, when Carl Froch fights the world champ Bute from Canada. Can he win? Well of course, but Bute is a very heavy hitter, especially to the body, and is no slouch when ability and speed is needed. The ironny is that 9 have decided to take him on. Not many top boys take on the next best, or top five contender till it's a 'Needs Be'. Indeed the only one that ran from him was Calzaghe, but then one only has to, like Froch says and so many sports writers state, 'Go down his record and see who he fought and when he fought them. He did also retire rather than fight Froch and gave up his belt instead. Maybe he liked the idea of keeping his undefeated statues. Can't blame him for that, and he had a few £million stashed away so ... What I - like so many others - found so distastefull regards Calzaghe was him bad mouthing Froch after Froch had patiently waited and never bad mouthed him, after he had retired. Agreed in the end Froch did phone him several times with the TV camera' rolling challenging him out. Even said he'd donate his purse to charity of Joe's choice, or on a winner take all etc. etc. Strangely enough Naseem Hamed, who earnt £40million by entertaining and winning, did actually fight and beat every champion in his division.
  19. I think most, if not all will be back mucker. I hope so.
