I let mine go in fog in training chucks... they quickly get above it. Now if One couldn't see their back loft in the garden for 6 feet, I don't think I'd let them out.

Think ANY feed is good. Indeed much, if anything, depends on what you have in store for them, and the distance being sent to. Oats are great as a Slow burning and long heat grain for instance. The important thing is 'Protein' is a building block, repairs torn and tired muscles. And put a little in reserbs / fat are then needed to fly on.

Had a couple of nice emails telling me other solutions that may have been of an interest. So that is nice.

6 X4 16 pairs, bred and raised great youngsters etc. etc. Other side was just 12 pairs..... Like I say, how many pairs can one place in a tree? As long as air is fresh and circulating they are in their best elelment. They never go looking for space, in lofts or street.... Also if one does get a dose of the hibbery jibs, then the quicker it is through the lot and done the better. Over crowding is a myth and excuse for poor managerment and excuses relayed bu supposed names.

I take it that you are sorted now then :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Jannssen senior himself - only one season - flew the distance with very much merit. Think that this highlights the point that system dictates the distances one wishes to fly. Plus of course - like all Jannsenns greats, it was / is the outcross of new blood that added the vigour, vitality etc. so much needed. If the constitution is right of course. And don't for get that incest breeding was more than a no go ... as was the 'Unnatureal pratice of widowerhood early on.

I must say they are legends. Great birds that have done well and are were at the base of very many strains. Must say however that I don't agree with OLDYELLOW personally though. Bussearts have now more than over took them. Indeed in the last 20 years Janssens haven't been around as such, if only stock birds .... whereas Bussearts are still dominating at all distances here and there, and I'd wager top nigh every fed in Great Britan! And of course are still very strong in the stock lofts. JMO I fear also that there is very much truth in waht Tommy says quote '\\\\\\\why cry over washed out rubbish like that, those boys and others like them milked dopey british fanciers dry for years, good riddance to bad rubbish, lol' this is and has been true, not least taken up via many Feather Merchants' to enable the selling of the name!

Well done Wales. You deserve your win and the Grand Slan title. Never mind the 'What if's and what aboutand if only's' You won all your' games. You played well as a tight nit team. Rode your luck and were experts in gamemanship. A complete set that is needed every time. One can only say but 'Well done'!

I think that that Alain Rollands, is not only the worst Referee by far in the Nations, but is a cheat. Further he had another appalling game again to day. Will have to see how bias Nigel Owens will be in the England V Ireland when by then Wales should have clinched the Grand Slam.

Oh I do sense a 'Not so Good' week - end of Rugby. But NOT for the great games on hand. Yes they will be very good, and all so very hard fought. Every team has more reason to win than the rest of the games this year as so much - as it turns out - at stake. I fear that Scotland have the ability, and certainly have the Tenacity to out play Italy. However I fear for them if they don't contain the Italians in the first half, especially the first 20 minutes. Yes will be a 'Who wants to Win Most' game for sure, and the Scots are past masters at this. But I hopefully am wrong, for I fear Italy will win. Wales! Well have been the best equipped and luckiest side in the tournament bar none. Fortune favours the brave they say, and Wales have certainly been pigging out in that trough for sure. But sorry to say, the French will over turn them. England against Ireland eh! Well very hard to call, because in many respects Ireland have possibly have been the best all round side this year. yes England have come on in leaps and bounds, and certainly have had possible the best defence in real terms already. So I will take England to win narrowly... not enough though to gain the points to top the league. Yes a very interesting day with many scenarios to be put forward and have.

At first I thought this was funny....Then I realised the awful truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end! Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table At which he's fed. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts Anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his ass. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid. When he's gone, Do not relax, It's time to apply The inheritance tax. Accounts Receivable Tax Airline surcharge tax Airline Fuel Tax Airport Maintenance Tax Building Permit Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Goods and Services Tax (GST) Death Tax Driving Permit Tax Environmental Tax (Fee) Excise Taxes Income Tax Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Petrol Tax (too much per litre) Gross Receipts Tax Health Tax Inheritance Tax Interest Tax Heating Tax Lighting Tax Cooking Tax Liquor Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Mortgage Tax and his pension Personal Income Tax Property Tax Poverty Tax Prescription Drug Tax Real Estate Tax Recreational Vehicle Tax Retail Sales Tax Service Charge Tax School Tax & Tax what he buys and what he sells Telephone Tax Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Water Tax Workers Compensation Tax Tax (VAT) on Tax. And Now they want a blooming Carbon Tax! STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world... We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids. What in the Hell happened? Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money? Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges.... And we all know what we think of Bankers. I hope this goes around the UK at least 1000 times!!! YOU can help it get there!

Well I was at the feed supplier this morning. I saw there a dozen or mor, and a few different places 'CROWS' these were all black Right size and grey beaked. I asked 'Do they sell a lot'? 'Yes' was the reply. I asked 'Many pigeon fanciers buying them'! No,. not as I know of .... more those that have chickens'! 'Chickens' I puzzled, but I suppose the young could get lifted off 'They place them aside there Feed Troughs to keep other crows at bay, because otherwise the crows will pinch all the feed'!
-
Two realisms and factual things here. Crows are clever oppertunists. Once they see B.O.P.S they do one or two things. Harrass them in 'Their' Territory, granted. Or they wait for them to kill and scupper up the remains. Being very clever and resilliant birds.... However, CROW do and will attack young pigeons and rip them to pieces. and descrate you loft sooner or later. They are know to even enterr and kill the youngsters in nests, and those flying out in the lofts. B.O.P. soon make short thrift of them when they decide too, or get hungry... hard winter. NO two ways about that. I had magpies 50 yards or so either side of my loft. They were shifted by Crows who used their' nests. Then a couple of Sparrow Hawks that shifted them on. I was lucky as the Hawks are now gone. Magpies are a pain, so I am this week moving them on ... as they are back. Would rather have Sparrow hawks... Mind they get head aches if and when they fly into glass at speed.

I think, personally he was at his best when Twice beating that Nottingham stalwart Wally Swift.

Great to see you back Owen. Yes improvement can be, of course it can, and will be no doubt made. Now one row has just 13 Caps between them, and the others just a handful... must be upwards and onwards. Expierence there is no substitute. Yes young and fearless and working for each other is a boon. Yet one must agree that this English defence, especially ion light of 'Newness shall we say' are certainly good, and boon well for the future. Not counting any chickens because one never knows regards any spanners are around the corner awaiting. Think Wales can, and should beat France of course. One thing for sure the Welsh won't be over confident and will be a tight knit trying. Think the Irish may well turn the English younsters over. They are overall a canny and clever expierenced side. Will be I feel a great learning curve for the English too.

England 24 France 10 Bias ref 12. Good oppertunities stopped! England 15 France 8 Ref 21, all for France. Well done England, great rugby. Nice to see the French defence sliced open and some good, clever tries. You managed to do what no-one else has done so far this tournament... take the lead over them and keep it; and you did it away from home. Can't say much about Rolland, there aren't any polite words in English for him. Showed a clear bias in France's favour. If he can't be neutral then he shouldn't be there! That New Zealander yesterday was great. Forthright and let everyone know just what was what! And allowed the game to flow. This idiot just stopped it... As for the sending off, and after Forfarrs ... well that shows it up more clearly. A disgrace. Utterly and an dispicable. Bring on Ireland! Well fly-Catcher France down, just Ireland to go ... but that will be a harder chore I believe. EH! :002: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Oh yes, just before dusk. Glad it made it. P.s. if a bird is reluctant to come out the basket .... take it back home. Was / is a RPRA rule that says that if after birds are liberated they are to come home, and return to owner.... apparently they know they aren't up to it. Had one reluctant that circled a few times after I chucked it out off the basket. Went behind hedge for a pee and it had gone back into the basket.

I have only just read of the death of Brian Curvis. A great warrior and Stalwart. One say born in wrong era, but of course most era's have 'Greats' to be beaten. I well remember his fight with great Emile Griffith. NO SLOUCH HIM. And of course his bout with another worldclass great in Dave Charnley, who certainly was no slouch. I remeber listening to his fight Of the Southpaws' with Dave Charnley ... who of course was a wieght devision below him - these were the days when they fought their contemparies - well most, and nigh certain here, if not in the USA. I had the good fortune of meeting him, and his brother Clif, another good champion to say the least, when like so many others we supported that terrible Aberfan disaster. personally I think the money element madse him fight the good un's too early, like so many, who did so to chase the money.
