Yep know where your coming from .... But the conditions etc. are always relayed to everyone when informed of the Liberation. They had on paper plenty of time... just meet from time to time unforseen, and better still Unknown circumstance(s). That is why we have bad races, even smashes, because ofUnforseen and unknown elements that cloud the UNKNOWN reason and how they navigate their way home. This is when Race Controllers' are unmercifully and unjustly slanted and hasled. Obviously at the time of Liberation MOST controllers get it right, and they ALWAYS have their, and the members pigeons interests at heart. Sorry sorry Paul, but sh** happens, and sometimes hits the fans. Remember when only 6 got back totally from many 000's when a controller pleased the T.V company's and we and the purpose were shot in the foot!
  3. The 'Reddening of the cere - 'Eye Lining / Make up/ is caused by a the blood flowing / circulating and is a sign of health and good form.... if when birds displaying such are behind, two things.... you aren't doing them justice, or they just ent god enough!
  4. Most are obviously on 'Hopper Fed' naturally. Of course as they don't know what we have in store for them, we have to differentiate what they are fed. A little lemon helps to feed more, and if they don't take to well to a different feed....
  5. Ronnie there isn't even a name for EY sign in Belguim. They have a 'Fixer' that goes around handling their birds for a fee and mates them like that for the 'Clients' Seems that they have a great sucess rate for they have being doing this for years on end now.... But no eyes are bothered with. Indeed Eyesign is regarded by most as the 'Joke' thing that the Brits and co do ....
  6. the best looking Grizzles I ever bred, or saw, were nest mates. They hen Black I believe and the Cock bird red.... alwas died within a couple of weeks of flying out. This was solved when I erradicated the family line. I was so upset too, as the nieghbours, and family really took to them. Me too, but the young never grew up, went poorly, and within 2/3 days had died. Samanella was touted etc. and much more, but since that line went the problem ceased.

    feeding

What is so really really sad is that this earth - in just so many parts, grow enough food to feed 20 billion a year!!! there is only 6 billion on the planet! Britian is also paid to grow shoots and fill in... and amazingly this goverment has been a big culprit is subsisiding the 'Wild Life / abitat more than any gentry Farmers's party. Farmers paid to leave 'Commons, encourage hedges etc. etc. Now I am all for that.... The thing that pees me off is two fold.... Man's greed in allowing the millions to die of starvation every week or so, and the cobblers of Genetic feeds, both seeds and animals.... There really isn't any ned... unless of course it means more profits for less.... which we see is, and has been the way since the year of dock!

    FOXES

Red oxi that one uses for treating metal to stop corrision / rust spread around keeps them at bay! Likewise if one just pees on the corners each visit, they scarper.
  13. Spencer behave lol, where ever did you get uch a fool notion! Mum keeps the cubs till they are drive off OR have left, and HAVE to find a different territory! Lions are aken over ever very short spell, and any cubs then are killed ... because ther might just be a chance of a distance relation. Fishes split sexes, and one leaves... and the beat goes one. Interestingly as the Pharoahs have the power to have their choice, what makes one think that good stockmen close to nature didn't bring in other families for breeding! Only man has enforced unnatural breeding to get an effect that they think is 'Cool' Alsation dogs small and a tucked in behind that falls away for example.
  14. Good luck Albear. I've just got in from work. Went at 6 this morning, and grafted.... I certainly am not use to it, and should know better lol. 4 youngster - from Russia, 19 to 23 years of age, walked of the job. And I can honestly say I more than held my end up. t a frieds and famly like job and when I'm slak I of course have to turn my hand to something to get the bread in. So haven't sent, was supposed to be at the Club by 6., 30: but got homeabout quarter to 8. Mind haven't had the time they need of late. Yes super duper loft fit wise, but that need sharpening to get the edge right on to be in the shout, so am disappointe in as much as I've slipped three eggs under a barren hen, which are due to hatch thursday / Friday and as this was her first time ever I was full of wonder and yes expectations. Would love to send her on youngsters. Another hen sits all day and night as if she has eggs... a real broody lass, and though nothing under her, she fights and defends her Nest box, and sits real tight I have a job to get of the nest... Now she would only need exercising. Work and rest and a urgency to get home... she'll be highly [placed ;ater I guess. still ....
  15. Me personally have never had the whim. let alone urge to study 'Eye Theory' or much else really, so I don't care one way or another. But I do find, many, not all but many - aspects of this great 'Hobby' of ours interesting. I love to see good, and especially great acheivements more than any thing, especially at the distance and hard races. So I like to see birds contented, picking about the gronds, for I think that this is the very fundemental of any sucessful loft, birds feeling safe and wanting home. Now as for traits, well they need many, and I guess that the real art of being a great 'Stockman' is see what throws what, and what doesnot! Then after the all important observation, pairing accordingly. Then one still need the element of 'The Lady' to seee to it! Now unfit birds can't be trained to get fit! Unfit birds either get lost, or return real late, and mostly take a lot of getting them around. Fit birds zoom! Cocks chasing cock birds, neck stretched out as far as possibly, yes love to see it, then the training starts, and if all things come right on the day... Bingo. Only fit and conditioned birds will win, regardless where and how produced! I also believe that many parts we strive for are all parts that make up the whole fit package. Yes the condition is all parts in one, Motivation, territorial, Breeding, being Randy, regardless of what system. and the beat goes on... But a better bird when fit will mostly beat a lesser fit bird, and a Good bird beats them both, and a great bird will leave them a little behind, because you can only get out so much, and if you get it all, then that can't be elevated, now a better bird... I also believe that Good to great birds manage them selves, and if we are having to do overtime to try and get some to achieve .... They won't, because they can't ( Race Wise I mean). JMO Can't motivate any bird not fit to

    A VALID POINT

Use to be allowed, and some times are still in places, but was out - lawed about 10 years ago by the RPRA.

    Queens Loft

Don't know where you get them fron Steve lol.... The Queen has regular check ups, and more than a weekly chat, a very good manager in Carlo, and yes she know every egg, let alone race results. And yes Carlo is trusted of course, but Her Majesty know just what is what, don't worry a mite about that!

  23. Mind if you can batter him, by all means splatter him! the RPRA of course is another avenue, Bu they won't do much if anything like most of the showers. Unfortunately most are there to stick their chests out and indulge in self importance ... But your lot may well be different, I certainly hope so. Good luck mucker.

  25. ole Hils are one of the finest sauces of Vitamins / Minerals... I use to bring a couple on the way home from fetching the 'Spring Water' . Replaced it regularly every second day or so... got the lot! I often ask why stop birds fielding, they know better than you. Was a time it was encouraged, and also the mineral trouhs and salt packs. Yes I know it was frown upon when the DDT scare was prevalent and did a lot of damage to all kinds of country life. Spraying with harmful stuff etc. But most regulations means that (MOSTLY) the land workers have to be careful what they put down, and / or are allowed to put out. I see that the "Australia to phase out use of dimetridazole// 24 May 2007 The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is to phase out the use of the veterinary product dimetridazole, which is used to prevent swine dysentery in pigs. A review by the agricultural and veterinary chemicals regulator found dimetridazole to be a potential carcinogen and that its use in food-producing species poses undue risks to workers and consumers. “As a result of this review, we now propose to cancel the registrations and label approvals for dimetridazole products used in pigs, chickens and turkeys destined for human consumption,” said Martin Holmes, programme manager (Veterinary Medicines). ‘We have proposed a two-year phase out period. The APVMA will issue new instructions on how these products are to be used and handled during this period,” Holmes said. Holmes said the APVMA recognised there would be impacts of this decision for the pig and poultry industries but that public health and safety was a mandated responsibility for the regulator’. ………………………….. Just another thought. Rat/mouse bait usually has something in it to stop the action of Vitamin K. Aspirins also? But am diversing a bit here so ...
