Just a mixture of 17% to 21% protien of whatever seed etc. is ample JMO.

Well overall the racing pigeon is not as good as it was by a long way - I believe, and losses and hard days / velocities seem to bear this out, especially when one considers the all improvement of 'Loft managerment, and modern care. This is the reason why thay just about stay on parr, for it must logically follow that if 'Loft mangerment' was not so good etc. then they would undoutedly be far behind. Whereas a big team of 24 once more than adequately flew every race etc. - and still had too many left most seasons, when if not home on the day, was over the next two day, mostly on loft in the morning, now many breed 4- 7 times as many and have not many left ... Obviously too much inbreeding ahs taken a heavy toll in my oppinion...

Went last Sunday to get just one bag.... all same price. Not a 'Name' supplier, just a fair and honest set up, and the feed is real cool too. Yes it is polished well, and will change anything at any time regardless, and will if asked put through the plisher whilst you're there. Better nip over tomorrow ans bu 10 bags I guess. Was told that all the 'Named' suppliers were putting their prices up ...

p.s By should be BYE ... catch up with you soon Mark, take care now.

I would buy late breds off louella first off, then see who could offer me what on sites such as this. Would keep Louella's seperate for first season or so, and not what threw what. 2 sewasons down new intro or a complete overall. But would 2nd season swap partners - if not scond rounds etc. first season. All y/b birds allowed to pick their own mates as long as they aren't related.

Found best way to cut a whole loaf in half, then indent with potts eggs, and place eggs in, tape the loaf together.

Being silly again eh! Just where did I ever remotely imply, let alone say anything of the sort. Just pulled you for facecitious. You pluck things out the air and hang a name on something that wasn't even plucked, and then in your foolinshness imply it was said! like drawing a universe with one line eh!
-
Not his look though and that's fer sure eh! ;D ;D

Don't be so silly barlbymark, and sarcasm is not only the lowest form of wit it is just an excuse for lack of brain power, and a feeble way of saying 'I haven't an answer to that'! Just be honest, not only with us - for no one here asked you to post regards having a ET, or even cares whether you have one or not! And as for saying I live in the past, that is so absurbed it is beneath comtempt! So I feel in that scenario you need to get a hold of yourself, get to grips with life and a few home truths. I have been having discussions now with fanciers all over the world for more than ten years n regards the Benefits, and cost to the sport in regards ET's. That is a fact, and the lady summed it up .... Greed, and wanting every bit of a helping hand to gain a little leeway over the opposition! And have all the tripe and lame excuses.... Never one - outside of me and another good honest member on here, have I ever heard any one say... I'll have a handicap of just 15 seconds ... or more truthfully 'I'LL Give you back the quarter of a mile I pinch on every 1700 ypm race. I have and do advocate that, and have been trying to implement it in the one club that I fly I that SEEMS LIKELY TO have the ET. So take the lame crutch and stick that one up your jackcee.
-
Yes of course, and if they / anyone feels that the cost is worth it, and there is a benefit, then one should go for it! Personally I perfer the dark natural nights so they can get the all important rest.... without any disturbance - if they did feed the young! JMO
-
As long as the ET brigade gets their way eh! Yet still the tripe and dribble drapple crap gushes out like the wet crap it represents. If you want a ET, Have one, but don't play fools scenarios' Have it, and hang the cost if any... Lets face it, those that want it, have will have it, even if they were the only 4 flyers in a club. Just get on with it, because I'm sure in reality - outside of you, no one gives a fickled rat's *expletive removed*.... Just cheapens ones selve when slush is spilled as if to fool anyone. Must be the guilt complex... and hang the sport I'm alright Jack. two clubs I'm in aren't interested, the other I feel will be mostly, if not all using it ... So I will in that club, and not the other two. But I shalln't bleat and say silly things like 'Well I have it now, so might as well use in ' ...

Thrush - is same as woman get, and quickly gets immuned to a treatment, so after twice one must change the remedy... 28 different strains.... same number as Samella.

Change crops for greener biofuels, scientist says (CBC) - Canada should be looking at different crops for biofuels because the original reasons for promoting ethanol have changed, plant physiologist David Layzell said. The use of food crops like corn to make ethanol is pushing up food prices and consuming a product that can sustain people. Instead, Layzell told CBC.ca on Friday, Canada should be looking at crops like poplar, willow, switchgrass or hemp as fuel sources. "All you want is the energy," he said. Crops that produce "more kilometres per hectare," don't reduce food supplies and don't take valuable nutrients out of the soil are what are needed. Wheat can produce 5,000 kilometres per hectare, biodiesel 10,000, cellulose about 15,000 and biomass-to-liquid systems (whereby organic material is converted into a "synfuel") 25,000, he said. Layzell said biofuels could be used to: - Support farm incomes by creating a new market. - Increase energy security by substituting for petrolem products. - Reduce greenhouse gas emissions. When biofuels initially became popular, the third aim was not really important, and the second only somewhat important. But those factors have become much more significant, and "the biofuels we're using now will solve neither of those problems," Layzell said. If slowing climate change is the No. 1 aim, making solid fuels out of wood and straw pellets to replace coal would be the solution. "But that's not going to drive your car." That requires a liquid fuel, and he spoke enthusiastically about a Volvo test last year that developed trucks running non-fossil fuels. The best-performing fuels - considering efficiency, emissions, compatability with existing fuel infrastructure and inputs required - were based on biomass-to-liquid systems, Layzell said. He is founder and CEO of the Biocap Canada Foundation at Queen's University, in Kingston, which has been seeking biological solutions for climate change and clean energy. It has run out of money and is set to close March 31, but Layzell has been appointed executive director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy at the University of Calgary. He will focus on environmentally friendly energy systems at the institute.

Yep 100% bang on, and regardless of strains they are first, last and above all pigeons. As for good ones and bad ones, well that is to as what we want from them.... and not neccate what nature advocated for them.

Can't understand why 1. People feel that A. A bird will feed extra becasuse of light, B. why one thinks that when the cup is brimful they can add another cupful! and C. night time is for digestion and rest! the system needs this a darn site more than unnecessary feeds. . And 2. Just why do people feel that they know better than nature! or indeed nature doesn't know as much! In any tests carried out it has been a futile exercise in as much as youngsters don't need feeding during the night, they need their rest for growing, and undisturbed contentment above all JMO.

So one club will be one less, a member wealer and a slight increase to cover costs to the remainders eh!
-
No, of course not... And early libs are again the boon for good middle distance birds... ALL get to the coast and wait for them! Hops over in morning with tired wings, got cold , and flies in cool sea air to say the least. The Roberts you'rs mother's brother and real genuine birds become also rans when the meriteous award are given out. and as we know, for SELLING! But they should get together and be there day before, because simply put, if one can, all can. and a far far better race , and the UK as a whole would better beneficial. I feel any way. As soon after five that if freasible, and after 8 : 30 say, a meal and bedded down for them. But again with a warme following wind at 11 the continental's are obviously going to realease at noon!
-
Didn't miss him either ;D
-
Yes that was the reason I originally joined, to fly the distance races... then all the conflab about 'How to improve' etc. Sections, and such like and the final straw, no alternative schdule in case will couldn't fly the Channel. All sat on their hands and twiddle with something ... possibly thumbs... :-/ and decided to do nowt! So I bought four bags of feed instead and resigned. Real distance sections are good I believe. If one has to have sections, they must, I believe, cater for the actual fanciers in sensible sections! Obvious that one would think :-/ ... But again it disappoints in that sphere too... Costwise the BICC is great. For the races Blackjack named is also good ... Now Pau for instance, surely all Concerns should go for the same liberation, and all on one Transporter... saves money... have it in turns who actually takes the birds, but surely with decreasing number, anything to offst costs have to be a bonus. Forget the politics and 'One upmanship' and do what is best and more importantly what is BEST for the hobby as a whole for a change!

Naw ... went to see a great 'Meatloaf' tribute band... Better than meeting up with all those from here abouts, and have a beer seeing who can tell the biggest fiubs lol :K) ;D ;D Never been, but was going to go this time... till saw the better half had bought the tickets ... like me 'Nuts' just where they are lol ;D
-
Thata a great loft matey... hope you get sensible offers for it, worth a lot actually, and one that has that all important ingrediant 'Airey!
-
I love some like that, as I feel that they would be brill in regards rough weather, and not need changing at all ... just scrubbed and hoovered regularly.
-
Brill ... could build entire loft with them, and just a nest boxes, for shelter in really rough weather. I have very similar, and just change some vents with 'Plastic Cladding' when I need shelter from elements... I also have the roof the same, with a over lapping solid roof 2 foot above...
-
Must, i believe, have firstly a system that suits you - no system suits every bird - and those that like it stay and race... other pop over yer mates on way back, or stay out late, many times lol. That is a basic for contented birds, which is, and must be the most important thing, before anything else, contentment, to YOUR ststem. JMO.
