  1. Further give Frank Bristow a ring...
  2. Well Jim Biss, through his mate, bought many great Distance birds... and also bought big later from Dordin, and a few others etc. Yes because every one knew etc. these got a mention... But I always heard Jim Biss pigeons...
  3. Well have the Clothes line outside of the garden then ... sure the Laird wouldn't mind lol ;D ;D
  4. Yes when studs do that, they may well, indeed often, take the total paid and give a false figue for the top bird's price...
  5. And quite rebust, but again of course easy to strenghen Dicky Darky.
  6. Yes very popular in the States, and saw most using them in Canada. Very easy and simple to make, and will fold down to flat 3 inches when not used. Indeed many I saw and spoke to just had one or two in the boot, taking hardly any room. Meant to bring some back with me last time ... will do next time. Have photos and measurements etc. if any one pm's me. Well hope I still do, am sure they are in my pictures.
  7. No such word as Eyesign, or like in Belguim.... was debates, and very heated ones apparently at that in the 1920 / 30's between many of the top boys on all sides of the channel. Ad SChw says a lot on the non believing side of it and the Belguims views etc. But then what do I or he, or others know for that matter! We can only pay the money and take our choices so to speak. Often, I believe, that pigeons win / shine in spite of us. An if it works ...
  8. Yes IB I also, like the maestro's own kin also say that. Read an interesting article written / or quoted Jan Arden's son who said 'I, never mind any one else, had very few of his birds when he passed on, and very quickly none at all, or their offspring ... Yes her we are 50 years later when the likes of America -etc. have lofts full of the genuine pure strain'. This even he foundhard to believe apparently, when he would have loved to have kept the 'OLE' family going. Makes one wonder... so onto pedigrees, these must surely - evn by the most honest of honest Studs / fanciers etc. only pertain from what that line won / produced etc. This to me personally is the one and only reason - as far as I am concerned personally -why a pedigree may be of use...What it's parents done and produced... and after the last 3/4/5 - depending on your hopes - it is negligeble JMO
  9. Personally I don't see why a post that doesn't agree, likewise a person that doesn't agree with the eyesign theory neccates that they / it is against it. There in nothing to gain - either way by aguing whether it has benefits or not... Just some it helps, and others have other ideas. I, personally, can take it or leave it, and as of yet it has no sway with my views of it one way or another. I am sure that 70% of so called non believers feel the same way. So I feel jack that you have also a complex. Further I will add that what does iritate me, and many others, is that it will spread to any and every site topic. This I feel must be kept in check... I mean why are ther three headings the same under this heading!@ :-/ :that in it's self is sad ( . Further no need. I may look in at the topics and read, like countless others, but because I don't - at present - believe in the theory, that in no way applies that I am anti, let alone against, again like countless more.
  10. Busseart said it right ... 'When in my loft ... they are Bussearts'. That for 'Strain' as I see it. Now as for 'Families' I believe a period of 4/5 years is needed to set this up, and like every one else, the all important 'Introduction's' This can / must be still able to be called 'Family'.
  11. [spurs on their way to Wembley eh! Is there a country and western night then? ;D
  12. Only as good as the person is honest. If you have a report with someone, and you feel right about them, that they care and want you to do well, that a kind of kinship, that they have a good reputation, then surely it is a good bet ... if not stick to your own whim and a prayer Remember you are only investing in 'Genes / blood, not the seller or his reputation ... and there are very few good stockmen about in reality, though many will give you all the help / advice and generally well being. ... likewise some are just shysters as in any walk of life. So if you like each other - or respect, then buy, if not spend the quiddies on good feed and training. - and wait till you do.
  13. None so blind as thoses that won't see eh! ;D ;D ;D ;D Like clicking them faces though, eh ;D Can't see eh! : : wel that'a a crying shame :'( :'(eh Mind like I said, Itried but don't seem able to master the art of posting pictures... :B :B :B :K)
  14. Andy no disrespect to Jim Biss, an awesome and fabulous flyer of the highest . But one must remember for instance, where he moved to ... like so many 'Nmaes' An ideal set up for the South Rd.. I believe also that when he left London he did well on the South road, but not like after he moved. And HE didn't fly North, now I wonder why! He certainly had the area, and the number of birds ,, and money was of course not a problem. North lacked Meriteous awards most likely, and there are also many other hot spots.

    ideas

Depends if you want them to go on the floor or not, or if you intend to feed them there like. Great idea racing to an avery. As long as a little shelter from bad elements you can't beat it.
  17. Waste of time that eh! lol ;D ;D :'(

  19. Realism, and more contented birds. I have tried to put photo's of my set up onto 'Pigeonbasics' to no avail. I have some store in Adobe, and what not... can't even seem to be able to send to say 'My Documents'. Yes they do come up on Pigeon basic' when opened... just don't take, so any pointers help in tis regard would be welcomed.

    question

They go by alphebet then ... after part yard. Seen 38 timed in together with same time, yes all with the same time - as I posted on here the result sheets, not one but several - yet all the ET did, and possibly could do was goe via the alphebet.
  21. I have 12 breeding pairs and 3 teasers in a 6 x 5. Depends on how the air circulation is dealt with. As long as it enters the bottom say and hits the back, and goes up through the middle then the air must circulate. Otherwise, regardless what they may well suggest here, or and else where, it can quickly beciome stagnent. I though will admit I only need one round of yougsters ... If I wanted two then the nest box would be 2 feet deep instead of just the one. Then I wold slowly bring the nest bowl with youngsters to the fore and slip another nest bowl behind.

    question

Goes down to decimals, and there are oft many draws as you call it ... joint is perhaps more apt.
