  3. Stu, you will have your work cut out there, no slouch flyers by any stetch of the imagination. Some great, realy great birds ... seems we over here don't hear enough of their' great flyers and pigeon.
  4. Sorry the Photo won't come out, but she's 81. Hot off the press from Australia. This kind of story reaffirms my faith in the human species. You GOTTA Love this!!!!!!! I hope her picture appears below.) The RAMBO Granny of Melbourne, Australia Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so ticked-off when two thugs raped her 18-year-old granddaughter that she tracked the unsuspecting ex-cons down - - and shot off their testicles. The old lady spent a week hunting those men down -- and when she found them, she took revenge on them in her own special way, said Melbourne police investigator Evan Delp. Then she took a taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be: 'Those *expletive removed* will never rape anybody again, by God.' Cops say convicted rapist and robber Davis Furth, 33, lost both his penis and his testicles when outraged Ava opened fire with a 9-mm pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison cellmate Stanley Thomas, 29, were holed up. The wrinkled avenger also blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but doctors managed to save his mangled penis, police said. The one guy, Thomas, didn't lose his manhood, but the doctor I talked to said he won't be using it the way he used to, Detective Delp told reporters. Both men are still in pretty bad shape, but I think they're just happy to be alive after what they've been through. The Rambo Granny swung into action August 21 after her granddaughter Debbie was carjacked and raped in broad daylight by two knife-wielding creeps in a section of town bordering on skid row. 'When I saw the look on my Debbie's face that night in the hospital, I decided I was going to go out and get those *expletive removed* myself 'cause I figured the Law would go easy on them,' recalled the retired library worker. 'And I wasn't scared of them, either-- because I've got me a gun and I've been shootin' all my life. And I wasn't dumb enough to turn it in when the law changed about owning one.' So, using a police artist's sketch of the suspects and Debbie's description of the sickos', tough-as-nails Ava spent seven days prowling the wino-infested neighbourhood where the crime took place till she spotted the ill fated rapists entering their flophouse hotel. I knew it was them the minute I saw 'em, but I shot a picture of 'em anyway and took it back to Debbie and she said sure as hell, it was them, the oldster recalled. So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door and the minute the big one, Furth, opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs, right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know. Then I went in and shot the other one as he backed up pleading to me to spare him. Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in. Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny. What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison, Det. Delp said, especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for sainthood and a medal. DEPORT HER TO the U.K. -- WE NEED HER!!!

    Be Warned

*TELEPHONE WARNING - 90# ON YOUR TELEPHONE* I dialed '0' and asked the operator who confirmed that this was correct, so please pass it on... (l also checked out Snopes.com <http://snopes.com/> this is true, and also applies to cell phones!)* PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician (could also be Telus or BT) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero(0), the pound sign (£), and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused. Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number. I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons. DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE. The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information with EVERY ONE I KNOW. After checking with Verizon, they also said it was true, so do not dial 90# for anyone !!!! PLEASE HIT THAT FORWARD BUTTON AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!!*

  8. Ditto
  9. Stamvater was my favourite pigeon of all time. - still is - Never was able to afford any though lol. Red Dragon lofts had / have Stamvater's line, tried several times to buy some off them ... they never ever answered the blumming phone, so missed out there again ... ah well.
  10. Just about the way I see it too. .... I'd definately put 'Love of loft and owner ...' first, contentment next... condition is after all just an extention...
  11. In a nut shell the answer is deffinately Yes! Of course location make make the birds hardier etc. and ALL accustome to the weather condition ... But a better question is Strains V locations.... Location everytime, bar when Haley's commet gets lost in Africa's 'Blue Moon'!
  12. 2 years ago I used Cat litter ... worse thing I ever did ... check out the ingrediants and treatment that have been used on it...
  13. Only have to apply matey, good luck!
  14. Yep agreed, any bird that can't fly 500 - 525 miles is a waste to any loft any way. Golly in Cananda they were flying yb's over 400 miles back to back ... like many others have and some other countries still do. But having said that, birds not trained, let alone raced till two year olds will and can do the distance with merit. There one has the choice of what they FEEL is correct, but I feel it is more purely for themselves. Too many people - I believe - relate to the pigeon as humans, and their likes and dislikes. Yes some some things may relate as such, but a LOT lot more can't and doesn't. JMOT
  15. Of course you are ... which section I don't know, but perferable away from the them sprint specialist at Lough, and Grimsby, and skeggy lol. ;D ;D
  16. They are after all just pigeons that need good clen feed / water/ and air.
  17. Any strain, contented and love of home.
  18. As for 'Who wouldn't you buy from ... well I'd be careful not to slander anyone, so in theory there is 'No One'... but we all know different!
  19. Depends on reason for buying I guess. If for the 'Blood' then it can be like a skinny moth eaten sparrow looking hen birds, one that can hardly fly up to a perch! Blood breeds and crosses race, simple as that. I have some coloured ones cming soon. Yes they will be dual purpose, to please the nieghbours, and more importantly to race.
  20. Agreed Jimmy, this is where the allimportant constitution of te birds make up takes over Regardless what one pairs, or breeds what with what, the birds constitution is everything above all else.
  21. Good to see others interested in flying the NRCC ... Only fault with them is their biggest one ... Unfair sections and deliberately favour the East Coast. Hence it's name the 'East Coast Club'. All clubs should be part of Fed, the Almag, then Combine, ALL taken most weeks as a National. Cheapr and better flying with more meriteous award WHERE oit is deserved. JMOT.
  22. Again would agree 100%. Further I say that 1. The system is all important for what one wants to achieve. 2. I say that a so - called 'Distance' bird will win at the short end too... But fanciers tend not to go there. Have a fellow year before last that wouldn't fly above 400 miles... I coaxed him into flying a nigh 500 miler, 3rd club, 10th Fed- I beat him in club, where we had ( in that club only three day birds ... I also won with only day birds in another club and there were only 17 Fed birds on the day) ...He was so pleased andflew the programme completely last season.
  23. They are after all pigeon foremost and lastly. Yes characture and trats play a part agreed.
  24. Would say nigh all good pigeon strains though are based on the 'Distance birds orinally.
  25. Have asked on here and other sites, but seems that this calculater by Bob has many differential seed etc. as they is...
