Yeah ... it will be stale and stuffy for the birds in summer. I'd rather Dogeon puts it right asap before breeding preferable. No my vents are from all sides, and all go out through the middle. Remember I'm the one that houses24 in a 6 x4 etc. and they are in great fettle ... I am able if need be to change the cladding in to vents, completely an all sides. Have Fans in need be and 4 Car fans if really needed that blows right through the lofts, or rather over the wired messhed roofs ... Poor air circulation is a boon to desiese and poor health... better safe than sory I feel.

Rats and / or mice climb brilliantly unfortunately. Fortunately if you have one, you won't have the other, as Rats eat mice, who won't stay there long. Now this time of the year nigh every house, whether one believes it or not, let alone seee any evidence, have one or the oth as they crowd in from the fields and swarm into the houses. I have traps / pipes etc. set every day, and still get one or two aweek, and there are cats galore around the surrounding houses, not mind fortunately.

I personally feel them vents make it two cosy - I'd have them 3 times as big with a fan in them, and six inches apart along the complete side / front. The idea of vents, I believe, is that the current comes through - preferably the bottom - and litteruay hits the back middle and then out through the Top middle to front... This causes a air flow that is all in portant. JMO.

Done as follows! Absolutely barbaric and scandalous the way you intend to cull the 'Pigeons' there are many more appropriate ways than maiming innocent birds. Further if one - like many towns have - put Dove Cotes up and out of way. These have provede effective else where, further they are easy to maintain - pott eggs etc. plus the numbers kept to an easy manageable control. Further many of us like them,including our children. Again they are good for educating our younger generations ... But just what do I tell my children that makes our children acceptable to the community... slaughter and maim these innocent birds... be a better place eh! Shame on you! Roland

Lined out old Pallets are good.... just ask any factory and they will be pleased to give, even deliver for you ... it costs them to get shot off now! :D Golly I'd just builds a wire mesh cage and cover with Air Vents / or cladding for the colder spells ... inter changing to suit the weather, and have change out of that :B... you must be wealthy is all I can say lol ;D

I am interesting in getting some Red grizzles, reds etc. Any help / pointers in this regards appreciated. Racing pigeons of course. I am very partial to their looks and also they are good for the nieghbours to view. Or I may have to get the tipplers / tumblers / rollers etc.

Was purely pointing out it isnt the clocking system that wins for you, but your birds and your ability with them to get them to perform at their best. A. Exactly, and needlessly it is pushed again. In a 1760 ypm race ten a quarter of mile behind will all beat you... and no amount of better breeding, managerment, or getting them fitter than the opposition will alter that! Male to Female... they are pigeons foremost and always. Busschaerts will x with any ... I'd go with the wildermeersch. Then cros the the youngster, then cross the other starins next season... Takes 2/3 years to really know tresults, so pays to have a little side bet. Then just keep the best youngsters, the ones bred them and bring in some new faces to cross again. ... if you intend to race them that is. Different of course if pets or keeping the blood.... Pigeons were trained extensively to fly in the dark in ww2. they went 2 -300 miles or so. The leader were surprisinly the Canadian corps that set many new standards ... they were sorry in that the worlded the exploits. I am often amazed when seeing birds fly at night. The most commonn - for me is the ducks.
