  1. Very true, and we be too proud to say why most likely. One club I was in talked about this. Had special meeting etc. 1/3 resigned before the AGM. another club I'm in did this last year. £130 odd quiddies. I only sent to Thurso .... but that didn't count. Distance races cost the same ... total costs split between the birds, and 10% extra for the club whatever. My gripp is that it is tailored to the Sprint and middle distance men. Must be. They expect me to pay to cover their birds (Fairs Fair I heard), But still expect me to pay the normal fees for the races I am interested in and sponsoring them for their races! Now if ALL races were covered the same, then fine and dandy ... but as they are not, and I get peeved every time I think of it, I shall type my resignation out this very evening and take it over tomorrow and post by hand. So a realistic Good idea, through some selfish interests again, means that in real terms, with out my £130 or more quiddies, they share will be divided between those that remain. I.e. the £130 or mores that I and others won't be paying. Sure only 4 -5 of us are interested in the distance races.... So we are easily out voted. Glad, was hurting, had that hole burning in my gut nigh twelve month. Will be gone now!
  2. Agree 100%. When I had real deep cuts, when carpet laying, I would slam in some Copydex. This too was for hold together a persons inside when unable to stitch.
  3. Gosh! I wear me duncy's hat and stand at the bottom of the stairs lol Mind I thought the idea was NOT to get replies! Well that is what I keep posting! Saw a another topic, where a person was asking for two clocks He and his son thought it would be nice to starting racing ... He has given up because it is too expensive. So glad you aint replying, and as for being popular, well that has never been my strong point, and sure am happy about that. Golly who wants friends... have a job buying me own beer let alone any one elses. But Bigda, one day - I doubt it, but live in hope - some one will actually be able to ask a question on here regards the Functioning etc. etc. of the ET' Clocking and have their queries answered.... nah doubt that! Don't be silly Roland!
  4. Go for the one furthest in the East! £440 little quiddies is nowt to other costs, and most 'Name' flyers have moved house for such....
  5. Bigda, you still have no idea what we, most have now bar you it seems - I / we are on about. Indeed you haven't the faintest idea. Indeed hate to say this, but you still haven't the foggyist! What was it, 'Some fell on stoney ground? Shame really.... P.s. any one, Would you ask a question regarding ET's on here? No! Of course not, and neither will countless others. The drum keeps banging needlessly and that in it's self means longer for so to accept.... others to giveup, and worst pack up!
  6. Lol, But again that is only scenarios Bigda. I raced for many years others 'Cast Offs' and di many raced - and still do - Pigeons took out the church, or strays. I have seen on here, countless good birds given away. New starters having too many, and Sales where very good pigeons indeed sold next to nothing ... indeed an fraction of todays inflated prices. Louella was clear out - as most years now older birds for £30 that would grace and start a great loft set up. Indeed -won't mention names lol - great grandchildren, have bred an international winner from louella - and just look around at the Latebreds that have funded and produce winning lofts! Indeed, would you, will you give a pair of youngsters to a new comer? So the initial costs are a 'Have to be' situation... Whereas a couple of month's morgage payments may be not. the last thing also one wants is any stigma whatsoever placed, needlessly, and unintentionally obviously, upon those of us that can't afford, or can't have. Surely!
  7. Again John, you are doing the very thing That this topic was to prove. We all know them answers. But why for instance did you feel you had to answer as such? You have literally just endorsed the ET which every one knows is here and will stay! My question is simple Why do they do as you have just done? And now the very point I was making is confirmed now and set in cemment! I, personally, would just loce to see posters able to ask, and get straight forward, unbiased answers. That surely now seem illogical, and will never happen I guess. And those that want answers, and have genuine concerns won't bother to ask - more the shame - because they already know the answers that will flood in ... and they certainly won't relay any fears, nor will they be answered ... mores the pity. P.s John, I'm nt be phesious at all, just making the point over the very point I am making!
  8. A bit mumbo jumbo. I have sent Emails, and of course received a few lol. regards the ET needless topic. These emails were mostly over my heading and comments on ET's Needless topic So lets progress and see where it lands. I have had a little slap of fthe Webmaster regards ethic in my posts ... so if any feel insulted... Good! They still stand lol ... Joking Richard! First I didn't answer Bigda as such. Here is the last Email I sent to him. Bigda, regards Mike Lycett, and not having his permission. A. You only assume that I don’t. B. As he opened that topic, and stated that from the offsett ... Indeed even before the shock of it coming in through the back door via the RPRA, It is public knowledge and remains in the public domain. I’m only using just one that has stated as such, and posted! Many more have and did, and many have left. Now some may have anyway, ... always a reason. But I know for sure three, nearer 10 actually in the three clubs that 7 still have their birds but won't race, and have left our clubs. That is the cost that will, indeed has happen, a price of progress I'm sure. But you know, like I advocated when there was all the hullaboo before the RPRA stepped in, the Pro Lobbyists were stating they would be only too happy to give manual clocker 12 second between each of their birds, and 15- 20 seconds on the first one (17 seconds is the accepted average). **** for instance, I believed for one stated that on here, like many others. 3 weeks later it is, and will be, Stuff them, no, why should I! They can do the same as me and buy one! But alas alack, too many can't! THAT will and is causing needles resentment. Never mind having to get the bird home first! Of course, and a bird in a fast race can be a quarter of a mile away or more, behind and still win! Yes I know nothing will change, nor improve etc. The writing on the wall has been written, and will of course stay as such. But a little less sensitivity wouldn’t go amiss, and may well help ease the conflict, any resentment. Then I had a few with this gist, and I hereby post one. This was in answer to his previous emails where I stated, and explain fuller, my views as I have now posted on that ET needless topic
  9. Merlin, I sure would, believe me lol. I have asked, discussed, seen for over 10 years the Pro and Cons. But this post was purely a simple demonstration of how folks just have to defend - and some time anti the subject. Never seen a post where the Pro Lobbyist didn't come out of the woodwork to defend, even insult and demean none users. Fact one. The only part of the topic to ask about was 'Why? do they? There is only one answer to Why, and that is because.... No answers there then. Fact two. Though they - most - never got the simple gist, it was quickly turned into as I say always needlessly happens. Fact three, I never said one way or the other any views o the system. I never showed a preference one-way or the other. Never said whether I liked it or not. Never comment whether it was good or bad, nor did I say whether I have one or not. Indeed a list of other things I never said.... yet had answers too lol. Never got any answers as to why I never got the main question answered. POINT being is why?. And two as of now! Why won't posters leave be when questions are raised, or asked in regards the ET? Surely the No haves know only too well the benefits!!! Pss! They don't need teaching that, let alone enlightening on that score! So maybe the Pro lobbyists should for once be honest with them selves and just think, THERE must be a reason why 99% of them don't have one! Further as Bigda implied 'Bully for the Haves, and tough c**p on those that don't have. That is another resentful aspects via those that can't have one! P.s. there are many reasons why some don't have them, or can't.... But it's certainly not to gain an advantages, and you can take that to the bank. Am I for or against? Well I defy anyone to put forward a realistic reason why the ET isn't beneficial. Do I believe that they have / will harm the sport in some leaving. 100% certain that is and has happen. Do I care? Yes, very much so. Do I have one? No! Will I? well that may well happen when A. I see that vast majority in the club / Fed having then (It will be so I’m sure) and B. When I can afford it, and can warrant it with the other half as a 'Need'! Hope this clears this topic up a little.
  10. Subject: FW: 5 Min Management Course, which I’ve put up previously in parts. Lesson 1: A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.. Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you £800 to drop that towel.' er, um, thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?' 'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies. 'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the £800 he owes me?' Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure. Lesson 2: A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest removed his hand But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.' Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.' Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity. Lesson 3: A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.' 'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk 'I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.' Puff! She's gone. 'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.' Puff! He's gone. 'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch' . Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say. Lesson 4 An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?' The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.' So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up. Lesson 5 A turkey was chatting with a bull. 'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.' 'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.' The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree. Moral of the story: Bull sh** might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.. Lesson 6 A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him. Morals of the story: (1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy. (2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh** is your friend. (3) And when you're in deep sh**, it's best to keep your mouth shut! THUS ENDS THE FIVE MINUTE MANAGEMENT COURSE
  11. You just did again ... pass the paper lol ;D ;D But would really help Chris if they actually answered, or asked even, with regards of what is actually being said. Always found that to be helpful lol ;D ;D
  12. There has to be a genuine reason for not allowing. But the Rules of the land supersede any by local laws. And any and every club, constitution has the right to put into place Rules and proceedures. Now, as time changes, so does the Spirit intended' obviously with regards why the 'Rules was made / adopted. So, like radious, etc. etc. there are, and must be rules to safe guard each and every club! As such, ungentlemanly conduct for instance, covers a multitude of sins. So as long as a 'Club, concern, institution stays withi the framework of the agreed mandate, then it can't be classed as discrimination. However, all rules and laws are open, subject to examonation, and if found wanting, or unjust, then they must be altered accordingly. There thn becomes the issue of our governing bodies nad they want, desire, to enforce these things.
  13. I dont visit the forum very often so i havent noticed this as much as you have obviously, but i agree that it shouldnt be brought up in the situations you mention. If someone asks which ETS make is best, the only discussion should be the pros and cons between the ETS systems and manual clocking shouldnt even enter the conversation with regards to the ETS. have to agree with you there. Exactly mate. And the point being, as well proven once again, regardless what part, or any point is asked for, or made, it will finish up with the same ole codswallop that we have now! Again, churning out the same ole for and against ETS. Wouldn't be loverly if just once, posters got the drift and stuck to it... Not like Steve St. who can't get even a sensible reply, but feels that he has to, and then gives into the urge with some stupid sarcasm as it if is clever and doing HIS bit to defend and stick up for the ET's how sad! Bigda, wel he don't care and rumbles on in a needless defence that hasn't been attacked. And so on, and all the POINT was 'Why can any part of the et be discussed, and help given ithout the innate same old rubbish being spouted. P.s. I honestly daren't ask the two things I woulkd wish to be answered. Bet there are dozen more like me eh!
  14. Further my so - called gripe here has nnothing to do with ET's, the rights, good or bad or indiffernce... and that again is the VERY POINT! Most just don't want to understand, and try to make it another issue- which isn't relevant or needed, as usual. :-/ :-/The point is why!
  15. And your point. Nothing whatsoever to do with the post, or this topic. Steve I have seen your sportsmanship this past few days, and must say am not suprised one iota that you A. Don't understand the point. And B. you obviously wouldn't even if you could, which make the POINT exactly!
  16. Yep good for you, and us... Mind never realised you were in the 'Sin Bin'. ;D
  17. Don't think that other 'Jealousy' miff should be raised nedlessy. Or how good a flyer is. Sure I know personally that may be the case. Further it may be that the person needlessly stirs, irks people etc. Know a couple of clubs here abouts very bad for not having in new members. Even wrote up in my BHW articles. So yes, likes and dislikes come into it. The hard part, as far as a governing body must be concerned, would be dicyphering which one it was. Then maybe - whether right or wrong -that the reason was he was 'Unlikeable'. I use to advocate quite strongly, and still believe it should be, that unless a defaulter, or been proven to be CRUEL etc. to birds/ animals then they should be allowed to fly. Can't force anyone to spek, or have a pint with them, but should be able to join the NEAREST club to their loft. If they can join that one, but prefer another club that don't want them in.... Tough. Not right possibly, but...
  18. ajw2255 simple, why do they / you insist on defending a ruling already in place. Why do they regardless of the topic, whenever RET comes up the same old well known drivel comes out . NOW ajw2255 when there is no call for it, no one is attacking it, or no is getting up protitions or moaning about it. YET every time the post is ruin. One may ask. Why and what advantages does one have over another' 'Which ET is preferred'? Then after a few replies the PRO mobbed are banging on about any and every repeted crap scenario from from how good they are, who jealous, no advantage just because one can't time in as fastt etc. etc. You wanna be there to time your bird in ... YOU don't have to be now. Heard them all. So the point is, wouldn't just once be nice to be able to put pointer as to which is the best, and why withoiut all the crap!!! Golly if someone is getting a bank loan for one, surely they are entitled to read some info with out all the crap crap!!! Yes? No? No one gets a proper answer, only slanted aquasations. That helps no one
  19. Chris, you reminds me that, of the woman on America's 'Who want to be a millionaire' First quest was 'What does the G. stand for in George Bush's name'? :-/ :-/ She asked d the Audience, 99% said George'! She took two away, and one was George. She then phoned a firend who said positively George... Yes she lost it. Maybe I'll be better of asking if a pint and half of milk goes into every bar of Cadbury'e MILK cholate, why do they call it Milk cholate? :-/ P.s, no this for the .... thread! You will rate very highly on here ;D ;D P.s of course you wish you wee like me! Not only I, but most understand that lol ;D ;D Bigda exactly, and that is why I ask 'Why do the likes of you always but in and defend the ET's, promote them when it isn't even an issue, or neds to be?!!! :-/ :-/ :-/ THAT is what the post is asking, which again it shows it has gone over three of your heads. Simple once again 'Why do you do it'???? :-/ No good preachng to the convertered, nor closing the barn door when the horse has bolted. SO even again - may get there yet lol 'Why do pro brigade but in everytime the ET is mentioned, in whatever compacity to defend and promote. Most of us don't even give a rat's behind. And as for me having a phobia, well it is obvious from that statement alone you can't get the gist!
  20. Mick and just what -* outside of confirming the very essence about you Pro Et's spout not wanted, asked for ET on a topic page asking exactly why do they have to keep spouting A. things we all know, and B. When it is completely irrelevant to the posts, and topi.? :-/ :-/ No wonder the club / fed meeting etc. are so hard, and even more why no one wants to take a post up! Geesshhhhh
  21. Don't want to change the topc here, so will post to Chris on the other topic.
  22. Any Club is duty bound, and can't refuse to 'Mark' and allow any RPRA member to send their birds. Even setting a clock I believe. Indeed the very club that refuses one could well have that person turn up every week and having thebirds sent through. Of course he would have to pay the going rate and be a RPRA member. Now they coiuld try and raise the costs to that particulat person, but that then would be illegal under the discrimination act. Not saying hat one club convoying another clubs birds have tried and indeed have added another 10p or so.... But that is down to the other club that may well think better to pay a little more than not able to go...
  23. Only good if you have electricity in the loft ;D ;D ;D ;D
  24. P.s Bidga of course they haven't .... but that in it's self means that they can, nor that they wouldn't if they could. P.s. Please notice Bidga how I have replied in another topic, set up here :-/ so I don't allow the other post to be ruined with the same ole crap scenarios that I was trying to point out to the likes of you, and ruin a sensible topic with poppycock.
  25. Club meeting tonight .... To think I'm going to drive 40 odd miles tonight to hear some senseless twallop when I could just put up a heading 'ET's' and leave it blank and wouldn't have to move out me warm chair ... :-/ :o ;D ;D ;D
