You need to e mail the various unions to see if registered in UK. I have tried the dutch union web site, but when i have googled the possible breeders phone number it comes up with a french address and it is not near the dutch border ????

I don't think that there is an approved paratyphoid vaccine at the moment. You may be able to get a prescription for a subsitute via a vet under the cascade system - but there was never a combined pmv and paratyphoid available in this country

Several weeks ago a club mate got a stray youngster in. It was not in great condition, he looked after it for a few days and the youngster was given a lift to within a couple of miles of home. However the youngster decided he wanted to be back with my club mate. This time though he was in terrible condition, flown out and not expected to survive. The owner offered to collect or to transfer. When the youngster rallied, it was transferred. Today my club mate had his first win in years, and to cap it all, topped the federation from 2200 birds - with the now transferred "stray" youngster. He was, to say the least elated.

First young bird race - 16 members sent 484 birds - Bubwith - 56 miles to most

It is totally different. PMV is not a live vaccine. Pigeon pox vaccine is live. Whether you can treat it or not is beside the point, it is a disgusting act, selfish, and wilful with no thought for fellow fanciers.
-
It appears that there have been several outbreaks of pigeon pox, thought to have been started by fanciers vaccinating their birds to give them a boost in the big races (and sod the consequences) So some members in the 'Big Barnsley Fed' are vaccinating their birds - and sending them to the race (there doesn't appear to be any rules within the RPRA regarding live vaccins) In the NEHU - If you vaccinate with a live vaccine (and there only is Pox vaccine live I think) your birds are not allowed out of the loft for 21 days never mind in a race pannier. I am disgusted that this is being allowed to go on - putting everybody else's birds at risk. Information from my vets website http://www.sandhillvet.co.uk/html/pigeon_service_management_diseases.html

What is the procedure with different organisations? The UNC has 4 entry copies printed for combine races. Three are each signed by 3 different people, one copy for the transporter (UNC), one for the club, one for the fed secretary and the fourth for the sender as their record at race marking.

Female Westie - spayed - 10 years old approx. Vaccinations up to date Normally a little overweight Green discharge from eyes and nose, lethargic, hasn't eaten for 5 days now and weighs 8.2kg (lost over 1kg) Went to vets Monday, anti sickness injection given and Fucidin eye ointment (and a bill for £63) The internet can be a help or a hindrance (distemper? Surely not?) She is just disinterested in everything and lies on her bed doesn't even respond when you shout her name unless you nudge her, slight improvement with eyes and nose discharge but no improvement with appetite, disappointed with vet who seemed to do a lot of unnecessary things and not enough to find out what is wrong. Any ideas? How long can dogs go without eating? Daughter has another dog - is this contagious?

I have sent an e-mail with the address and phone number of a club in Cromer
-
No I do not think it was a good idea- I was surprised, I expected better for an international. People moan about the UNC who use two drinkers to a basket, and that's not in the Mediterranean heat!!
-
The Barcelona international - they were wicker baskets and only had one blue plastic drinker on each basket - they're only 12" long, as I use them for the young birds as corridor drinkers

This thread is about PMV is it not, not Paratyphoid
-
Which PMV vaccine did you use? Was it Belgica? The one made in Roumania that is not authorised for use in UK?
-
Young birds? Heartbreaking
-
How did they get on Pat? Good returns I hope.

Are these young or old birds?
