  1. Whenever I have seen a competition entry (not however a one loft race) it always says employees and their relatives are not allowed to enter.
  2. You can actually log in directly on the HMRC website, look up your NI contribution record and see whether you are due a tax rebate. Also see, if you haven't already retired, your pension forecast. You need a passport to register or a driving licence and a code is sent to a phone or mobile each time you log in. It's rare for HMRC to phone you- even when you log a query with them and "they will ring you in the next 5 working days", in my experience they never bother!
  3. We give ours to someone who grows vegetables on an allotment. He rewards us with fresh veg and rhubarb when they are ready

    Cruise

My GP surgery said I wasn't entitled to one. Got mine done at Boots last week, free, they said I was entitled to a free jab, and they weren't busy!
  5. You can now go on the Inland Revenue site, register and put in your details, and it will tell you if you are due a rebate. It will also give you a pension forecast and details of NI contributions Unless you are female and paid a reduced contribution for a couple of years in the 70's, then it tells you nothing!
  6. Wife or birds? Both members chose their wives and no longer have the birds. The latest one less than five days between diagnosis and disposing of birds. Though the majority were given to a relative
  7. Our club is losing another member as his wife has been diagnosed with pigeon lung. This is the 2nd one, neither of the wives ever visited the lofts never mind cleaned out. Both were on allotments away from their homes and both have been put down to the bloom on clothing as the wives did the washing. Unfortunate? Unlikely? What's your thoughts?
  8. A club mate only races widowhood cocks as old birds. So last year he gave us a hen to settle and race as he had bought in a stock pair and only got one hen which he raced as a youngster. Unfortunately although settled she was lost by us training. Our club mate wants us to do the same again this year, is it worth it I ask myself! Would you?
  9. Any closer to your target Ian?
  10. Fanciers who look at you as if you're lying when you've got all yours home and they're still waiting on 10
  11. I would if I could find some!
  12. Someone at the race said a lot of the birds have megapox. Is that a variation of pigeon pox?

There were 671 I think at the beginning and 114 in the final race I think there may be a mix up with the MNFC race that took place the same day from the same race point

  21. There appears to be several Scottish pigeons arrived in a club in my fed - one lad has got 4 in another has Su 16 SB 161, (and 164 is on SNFC Buckingham result W Gray & son Coldstream) is it possible that they could fly in the UNC as well as the SNFC?
  22. I am, very pleased with the returns all season to be honest.
  23. It depends who you ask. Durham Combine was a disaster, West Durham were on the coast (but they shouldn't be and the members don't believe you) And the UNC, I can only give you my experience, Good race, good returns, I had 21/25 last night and 2 first thing this morning. The two missing have been AWOL before. It was very close in my club (apart from 1st which was well out in front) only 2ypm separating 2nd, 3rd and 4th, with me being the 4th one! But was 7th fed, all my birds came out of the North!
