https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrochloric_acid Gastric acid is one of the main secretions of the stomach. It consists mainly of hydrochloric acid and acidifies the stomach content to a pH of 1 to 2.[31][32] Chloride (Cl−) and hydrogen (H+) ions are secreted separately in the stomach fundus region at the top of the stomach by parietal cells of the gastric mucosa into a secretory network called canaliculi before it enters the stomach lumen.[33] Gastric acid acts as a barrier against microorganisms to prevent infections and is important for the digestion of food. Its low pH denatures proteins and thereby makes them susceptible to degradation by digestive enzymes such as pepsin. The low pH also activates the enzyme precursor pepsinogen into the active enzyme pepsin by self-cleavage. After leaving the stomach, the hydrochloric acid of the chyme is neutralized in the duodenum by sodium bicarbonate.[31] The stomach itself is protected from the strong acid by the secretion of a thick mucus layer, and by secretin induced buffering with sodium bicarbonate. Heartburn or peptic ulcers can develop when these mechanisms fail. Drugs of the antihistaminic and proton pump inhibitor classes can inhibit the production of acid in the stomach, and antacids are used to neutralize existing acid.[31][34]

vicsongod - you mentioned in your post pH 2ml of Osmonds enviroboost to 2 litres of water brings the pH down to 2.8 15ml of cider vinegar to 2 litres of water brings the pH down to 3.5 (the lower the number the more acidic the liquid is) I personally don't think that is a lot of cider vinegar, and I think the pH levels are adequate Salmonella IS a problem, but I don't think the majority of pigeon fanciers think it will affect them. The surprising thing is that most pigeon fanciers believe that other pigeon fanciers only send healthy pigeons..... and nothing could be further from the truth - especially with young birds

The kiss of death for a few - I did think about it (again) But would be jinxed 100% and lost in first race - so I'll keep it to myself

How many days old should the eggs be before you get a positive (can see the veins - I use a torch not a candle - for safety reasons!) I have an egg that I would like to hatch if it's full - it has a few minor cracks - crazing - can this be repaired? Instructions please if possible

My OH got PPI back last year - from 1999 - 2002 (I hadn't even met him then!) He applied himself, he didn't use another company He was with the Halifax - and the woman in the Halifax gave my husband the insurance document numbers she found on their system going back to the tun of the century - as I said this was just last year, hubby got back more than the loan he took out! The interest paid was taxable, and there was more interest than PPI

Congratulations Lindsay - is it a boy or haven't you looked? A beautiful baby, I would never have guessed it was a boy - it's the blue item in the background that gave me an idea it might be

So Ken - with you being so close has any restriction been imposed on you letting your birds out or not? And if not are you happy to let your birds out knowing there is a problem not far away (just curious)

My other half has Windows 7 and Google using his laptop and using wifi and doesn't seem to have a problem. We both have Macafee provided free from internet provider. And kyleakin lofts - it could be that, so I might just do the same - bing has just crashed as well!I can use internet on tablet and phone without a problem - it's just not as easy to hit the keys! -
What was the problem? Or should I say - the solution!

What a nightmare it has been the last couple of weeks - it just keeps hanging or 'Not responding' I've uninstalled and reinstalled and for one day seemed to be OK - but back with a vengeance and barely got two minutes out of it before it was unresponsive yet again I've had to go through microsoft and 'bing' which I'm not keen on Any idea - or does anyone know what the problem is? I'm on Windows 10 if that is any help
