  8. Redcar Central Flying Club- 17 members sent 406 birds to Newark flying 106 miles on average
  9. One of my young birds is about 2 months old, feeds OK and is flying round the loft BUT his top and bottom beak don't meet, a bit like having cross over teeth! Does it matter?
  10. 65p per bird inland and non-combine race - and that is not profit making - it is what we get charged by the federation these basket charges have remained unchanged for several years as well, sometimes we make a loss in the club as some weeks we send part baskets but have to pay for full ones - the club also faces a fine if they put more than 25 in a basket (inland non - combine races) The club I am in tries various ways to raise funds - one is a loft draw £2 a week and is compulsory whether or not you send - 2 prizes won each week from members numbers (same number all year) We won it just once last year - £10 - it cost £50 for the privilege!
  11. It would cost me £35.10 to send 54 - so you have cheap racing!
  12. Newark - 106 miles, but I don't know how many we're sending (between 28 and 44!)
  13. 1 missing from 28 sent - very gappy
  14. Up North Combine Bubwith Groups 1 & 4 liberated @ 10.10 Groups 2 & 5 liberated @ 10.30 Group 6 liberated at 10.50 (There is no longer a group 3) Wind is a light SW
  15. Durham Combine liberated at 10.15 from Newark
  16. 15 members sent 284 birds to Bubwith - 1st race just over 55 miles
  17. I'll plump for a yearling hen that is an unknown quantity - we've had her just a couple of months and settled her from a loft that just races cocks - she's very keen and in the roundabout loft - the rest of the yearling hens are "spare" and being raced celibate! NEHU 17 Z 490 - Blue hen (And I've no doubt she has now been jinxed )
  18. No Andy - I'm married to the secretary Too busy doing other people's clocks to bother with his own
  19. Oh dear There's 72 on my clock I blame the club secretary
  20. There was a few racing Yorkshire Middle Route were at Newark - and depending on who you talked to they had a) Good returns or Bad returns Durham Combine are at Pontefract today and West Durham are at Wakefield (or it could be the other way round!) but they're not expecting to lib until later as it's full cloud cover at the race point
  21. Race postponed a week - mainly because of previous bad weather and lack of training
  22. Same - 55 miles Open race on the 31st March has been cancelled not that I would have been ready to send!
