  4. One in Sunderland at 20.30 for Dawson, Peacock and Smith - that might actually beat the one in Hartlepool
  5. Birds were up at 5.45am and I never expected to say it - one clocked in at 19.59 today. It's been a few years since a bird was clocked on the day. Well done to Eric Wilson from Owton Manor Hartlepool flying approx 547 miles
  6. Bl**dy hell that was quick!
  7. UNC are at Oakham tomorrow - 132 miles It's a 'guess the velocity of the club winner' as I haven't sent this week 133 miles to most members (it's South of Nelton Mowbray) I shall guess at 1480ypm

  9. The quoted section neila has put on from mealybar suggests bleach is hydrochloride - it isn't it's hypochlorite and totally different as hydrochloride is acid and hypochlorite is alkali Just saying
  10. The last meter reader who came to my house - I showed him how to read the electric meter and how it worked. He was new to the job and had not seen a meter like it before and not had any training, so rather than him being 10,000 units out - which he was - I gave him the training myself! I worked for the electricity board when it was a nationalised company in the 70's so know how to read a meter. I'm on a 2 year fixed rate with Ovo until Aug 2019
  11. I have an old style meter - with the dials, for Electric - the gas meter is relatively new in comparison, installed in 2002 along with a gas supply! I have resisted all attempts to install a Smart Meter, but since joining Ovo energy - they have been persistent to say the least, phone calls nearly every week this last month. Now today I have had an e-mail: Would you believe it? Due to the age of your energy meter, its certification has expired. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy requires us (by law) to recertify it, so we're going to give you a completely new one. The great news is that you can now get a free smart meter upgrade, which means a shiny new meter to replace the old one. I don't want a smart meter, I don't want any disruption - I'm happy as I am thank you very much What are my rights? Can I request that they recertify my current ones? And then leave me alone for the next 10 years? or do I HAVE to have a smart meter?
  12. Since the 2nd half of April
  13. Wisconsin, USA And he's right - the nearest club is over 90 miles away
  14. It happens every year but I don't know why - a few youngsters moult regardless It's over 5 weeks to the first young bird race - and one is down to five flights already and another 6 I've not looked at them all either, just a couple, they looked strange as they are losing their bars! What can we do to prevent this from happening? They'll be coming off the dark in a few days - do people start using lights to try and get them to hold on to their flights - that's something we've never tried
  15. If you join the facebook page 'pigeon news results and sales the up north combine', it has over 4000 members, and there are quite a few from Hull willing to do such favours Andy
  16. The Tesco e mail service ceases on the 28th June 2018
  17. The Nehu still have the talk talk e mail address for him, but I would have thought the e mail address on his own organisation 's site would be the most up to date.

  19. Well done Lindsay - 1437ypm
  20. Sorry - that's one of the 13 year olds! I'll wait until the 17 year olds battered wattles look a bit better before I take a photo!
  21. In 2007 as a 2 year old he was 3rd club, 9th fed 1887 birds, 192nd combine Folkestone 24199 birds and 2 weeks and 4 days later after 5 days in the basket he was 13th UNC Lillers 19069 birds - photo taken half an hour ago - one of the 13 year olds
  22. We have an old cock bird - he's 17 now and not settled here, he was my husband's pride and joy with 6 x 1st's - the majority from Melton Mowbray - and has the nickname 'Pork Pie', when he was 2 years old he was stolen - and returned to the loft minus his life ring. He was in the stock loft - but no longer filling eggs he was put in the geriatric wing where the other retired cocks are (they're only 13 years old though ) they fly out every day - so he had to be put in a basket every time they went out. But he has been getting picked on and for the last week has been kept in a box in the shed - it's a widowhood box - not a cardboard box! He looks his age, he really does look old and decrepid, he has arthritis, struggles to get to a perch etc! The 13 year olds are the picture of health and look 10 years younger - probably because they exercise regularly We have a 14 year old hen - and several 11 year olds, are we too sentimental?
  23. Good Luck! UNC have started liberating at Chelmsford - 9.50 first cut
