It is probably a ring bought on e-bay and put on a bird google American Racing Pigeon Union

Good Luck all - it's a nice morning in Redcar
-
Had cultures done on mine last week (negative) by an avian vet - the charge was £12 - for all you peeps who think it might be expensive there was no consultation fee
-
Some reckon it can be - some reckon it can't But if you are just starting out you don't need this type of problem, what you need is disease free stock and to make sure your loft is secure from vermin - and you need to disinfect your loft well Have a look at this site http://www.chevita.com/en/pigeons/symptoms/index.php
-
Well done - to the bird I wonder if its the same bird that was 2nd Andrezel last year?
-
Welcome Jacob Gail j on here is the WHU Secretary If you send her a message on here she will let you know the owners details All I can tell you is that it is from Wales - but a big thank you from all UK fanciers for taking care of the bird
-
Redcar is full cloud cover wind is around 25mph NNW (plus gusting) Barely a bird in the sky of any description - only bird I've seen is a crow - blown South with the wind - South roaders would really struggle in this - North Roaders wouldn't need to flap their wings LOL !! Looking at the weather forecast maps - these strong winds only seem to be on the coast - wind inland is a lot lighter

I haven't got the original bag - otherwise I would have done (I once found a maggot (live) in a bag of peanuts - unfortunately it only came out of the bag - and into my hand as I was finishing the bag off - that went to envoronmental health) mind you - that handful of peanuts and the maggot went up in the air
-
So you would keep the rat droppings and mouse droppings and poison in with the seed and feed to your birds and not bother to complain - just accept it
-
you have to answer the question - and no they didn't question my storage arrangements - I told them how it was stored
-
What would you do? 2/3rds of the way through a bag of expensive seed, there's 5 kilos left - the bag has been stored in a bin with a screw lid, and is transferred to a plastic bin that holds just over 5kg with a snap on plastic lid - but the seed is very dusty - and seived - then you discover it contains rat droppings and mouse droppings that are full of 'blue' (poison) approx a tablespoon in the remaining 5kg My hubbies reaction - chuck it out but I complained to the manufacturers I had to send them a sample - I have retained half though I had a letter back with an apology and received another bag free of charge (the bag has a hole in it ) 'without prejudice' Anyway I can't say I'm happy about it But what would you have done - and expect as compensation

What Is Wrong With My Birds
REDCHEQHEN replied to REDCHEQHEN's topic in Help - What's wrong with my bird?
I took 6 birds with me and droppings from each section all birds were swabbed throat and cloaca, and droppings cultured no canker, no yeast, no salmonella, no worm eggs, cocci count 100, 300 & 2200 from the 3 samples We won Clermont last year in a NE wind (1st & 2nd) and although the race was a disaster this year - we were nowhere sapper - although we race roundabout our best hens are paired to non-racing cocks - so they're always there for the hens The birds are having a rest this week -
We've had a lousy old bird season - great last year - most were the same birds this year and they're just getting further and further behind Had them to the vet on Monday and there's nothing wrong with them (only my bank balance now ) Before taking them to the vet - somebody did pass comment and said - 'there's nothing wrong with them - it's motivation' so maybe it is - but how can I motivate them even more - we fly one section roundabout and another natural
