  3. In the UNC we have other rules - it's not just performance enhancing drugs - it's the use of live vaccines Live vaccines that a) Are not approved in this country and We (the UNC) have a rule that any birds given live vaccines - the club secretary should be informed and they should be quaratined for 30 days - and this is not being adhered to - and these vaccines are given as performance enhancers And anyone out there looking in -IT'S CHEATING !!!

  5. If you are in the RPRA its in the rules - I'm not in the RPRA - but I've seen the list - in the rules APPENDIX ‘G’ (SEE RULE 199) PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS/SUBSTANCES 1. These Rules are drawn up by the Council of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association under the powers granted by virtue of Rule 199. 2. The use in pigeons of the following are strictly forbidden: ANABOLIC STEROIDS, BETAAGONISTS, CORTICO STEROIDS, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY NONSTEROIDS, OPIATES, ANALGESICS, PERFORMANCE ENHANCING STIMULANTS, SYNTHETIC HORMONES, ANY DRUG FOUND TO BE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING PLUS ANY SUBSTANCE WHICH MAY BE USED IN AN ATTEMPT TO MASK THE ABOVE. When products of which the composition is not specified are administered, we advise fanciers to ask for an attestation from their pharmacist or vet stating that the product does not contain forbidden substances. http://rpra.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=zg8HFxQWSfk%3d&tabid=88

  13. Medpet's Medistatin has 400,000 IU's per gram of nystatin - and it is 5g to 1 kg of corn - this works out at 50,000 IU's per bird for 40 pigeons eating 1 kg corn and is what I have based my working out on.
  14. It was 19 degrees on the west coast of Scotland at the weekend wasn't it? The highest temperatures in the UK
  15. Cos some one is shooting racing pigeons (Reported by a UNC member following a phone call from the unrepentant 'gunman') Several members have reported birds being shot from Saturdays Newark race

  17. 5 - 7 days you can usually see blood vessels formimg
  18. It depends on the strength of the oral suspension............ Check how many IU's per ml. (International units) If it's 100,000 IU per ml - a pigeon requires 0.5 ml (50,000 IU's per dose) a pigeon needs more than one dose if it has a yeast infection (5 - 7 days I would personally treat for)
  19. If your pigeons have not got snotty noses its a waste of money whatever one you buy
