  9. Have you tried syringing a very strong glucose solution down her? It worked on one of my hens who also had to be hand fed and syringed for a few days as she hadn't the strength (or inclination) - but she did pull round and I'm sure it was the glucose that really helped

  11. what feed do they get? Gem superwidowhood as much as they want - food removed at noon do they get out for a fly? Not normally - but they did last week and I topped the fed LOL do you use any form of motivation, prior to basketing the birds? The young birds are split and run together before basketting is anything added to the water? orego-stim do you handle each bird, and check them over? don't always get the chance on basket day - so try to the day before Do you kiss them goodbye? Not the young birds - but have been known to kiss the old birds
  12. I've never been able to settle birds so I will let others answer your query - but how far away is their old loft from you?
  13. Racing from Newark this weekend. 106 miles, sending up to 29, weather is not looking so good on the East coast for Saturday (fog and mist) and the fed is not going with the combine - so may have to rethink.

  15. A good title to your post If it hadn't have been about pigeons you would have been the envy of all the male fanciers on here Marooned on an oil rig with three french birds I have noticed that some people are flying French young birds this year, including one of the Scottish fanciers who has lost one. How is your French? http://www.colombophiliefr.com/ I have found a page that asks for the ring numbers - but can't give you a direct link to the page If you put the ring numbers up I can check them for you

  18. I ask this question as some breed early and some later - but how late to breed your youngsters for racing? Today I topped the fed with a youngster that chipped out on April 30th (it was 3 months old yesterday) and my 4th bird home chipped out on May 7th I've never had young birds this young before - they haven't been on the dark (well only for 2 or 3 weeks) and have already dropped atleast 2 flights So how old are your young birds?
  19. Over the moon with today - had my first ever win with young birds after 6 years of trying (was also 2nd - birds arrived together) was also 1st and 2nd Fed - 2164 birds 1520ypm (55 miles South Road) 29/30
