My two sons had a go at the NCC and sent six this year for the first time they actually won a hotspot race and had the six ybs in the final race seems to be a well run OLR from what I can gather.

I get it every year in my ybs normally when there is a bit of stress on them I might have one or two too many in the loft at the time which can add to the stress thing but the one or two latebreds which are normally amongst the depleted old bird team are less likely to get it.

yes they can get it but usually a milder form due to less stress on them.

Good post john and they ybs that you are talking about would have been raced natural as darkness was never heard of in they days. Started racing myself in 1972 with about 6 yearlings that I had trained on the bus from Lanark as ybs and there was two amoung that 6 that flew the channel 4 times each and like yourself were gift pigeons from various fanciers. Pigeon racing today is a completely different ball game from they days and the reason for it IMO is percy percy percy

Have had eight tosses in total the last three from Elsrickle about 20 mile to me only lost one yb and had one injured, had a great toss this morning fae Elsrickle with the Airdrie van and Ken Buchanans trailer driven by Davie Hannah must of been about 1400 doos this morning between the three of us.

Think we have been fortunate up until now with six trouble free tosses up to about 20mls had about 200 plus birds this morning in my trailer and had a great toss fae Elsrickle.
