  3. well done Walter.,.. a great season and well done to all the winners Mick
  4. O'Hare lofts from Ayrshire scored 25th
  5. :emoticon-0137-clapping: them lads run a good race, nothin hidden, all is reported and 12k to winner guaranteed and usually paid out in hours/few days max. Mick
  6. it sure was and ill enter again...Eamon done his best and ran it well with great reports. :emoticon-0137-clapping: to him and good luck next year....ill have to put in something different
  7. Bill i agree pixels went well this year...but i didnt like the early training and every race bar the Final was a tail wind. Big birdage it was, but the loft position makes him one of the shortest flyers and if 20k released 10k is going over the loft as he is in line of flight. Its a matter of follow the leader and drop from sky. They did have a tight final and well done to the winners. atb Mick
  8. if i was going to send to any it would be "the somerset" and "the north coast classic" over here. Both are well run and nothing on-toward about them. Somerset can get it tight, but NCC seem to get good birdage to the final. atb Mick
  9. well done Owen...good result
  10. Pigeon359 i did read posts but read it as ye couldnt be bothered to try and phone after 1 or 2 failed attempts i wasnt nit picking ...i only gave my point of view, credit goes to urself for trying and getting them to stray center and posting list on here...many wouldnt. granted more to life than pigeons.... hoping any of mine dont end up in Edinburgh was a joke at the end without a smiley now get back to work while i finish me botlle  Mick
  11. IM not Scottish, and i buy phone number rings from Lambournes every 2 years. As soon as ybs are weaned or any new stock comes to my loft , the pnone clip ring goes on. If anyone got one of my birds in i would always appreciate the call. Collect when i can and if not send for courier if needed. But 9 times out of 10 the fancier phoning me is genuine and will help all he can. So in my imo the phone rings help retrieve birds and also let you know where they ended up if not possible to collect yourself, and i think its wrong in your part not to contact the number ...just to let him know. Ok PB is your out and phone calls can run a bill.( i understand ur point of view) but i dont agree with it. Thats your decision. I hope none of mine land in Edinburgh. atb Mick

well done Alf :emoticon-0137-clapping: ill give ye ur money back for a youngin next year hope it does u well
  17. Ronnie that is point im making...meds to race competively!!!! it ruins the birds and the medication, if not given properly. Only outcome is inferior young. The losses and amount of sickness can be related to this ... but yet to be proven. Mick
  18. Mick baytril can be a wonder cure...but only as a last resort. It should be respected and not mis-used or under dosed. for years ive built a family around natural immunity, and last year ybs crucified me. In the 10 years i have pigeons ive only used anti-biotics twice and both times it was a flock problem and i sent to vet for the right meds. i dont race week in week out like most...its more like a hobby to me and i send when i can. But can assure all birds are trained and healthy. again IMO ...if it takes anti-biotics to keep a race team fit and healthy to compete then we are in the wrong game. All that is going to do is breed weakness into to the young that they breed. Mick evry one to their own...and atb for the rest of season. Mick
  19. Its too sore on the birds and used properly can be effective ...but used on a whim like 2 raw 2 days on tounge imo is not good unless perscribed. too many people jump for a drug to cure something thats maybe not there...ok baytril is broad spectrum ...buts its mis-use is creating harder strains of bugs and ruining the birds liver. as i say jmo atb Mick
  20. as long as its not inflammed and birds scratching, or watery eye, i would leave alone, and wouldnt worry. But as you said its an observation, so observe how they fly/perform. NO need for anti-biotics especially baytril. atb Mick
  21. Might have to use mine yet :emoticon-0136-giggle:

    Hawks/falcons

I cant believe that basics pigeon site(well known and well respected) is removing all negative threads about bop. Imo all threads should stay for discussion and the controversial post removed. We all need to talk about this problem ...its going to get worse and needs to be dealt with...either on line or off line...all aspects need to be addressed.... relocation deterrents taste repulsion etc. but this site is brushing it under the carpet in fear off legal backlash, which i can understand. but decent moderation is required not an anti-bop criticiser poster campaign. btw ...Bigda got banned for posting pictures and then arguing the point with Fifer. atb and good racing to all Mick
