Painting the outside of the loft and, as soon as they've finished moulting, dig out the Easybed and renew it. I love the smell and look when it first goes down, shame it doesnt last long!! :

I was told to use net curtain whitener and rinse them well. Won't they be moulting very soon Rich?

I think that I'd want the bottom boxes higher off the ground for ease of cleaning and also will cats peer in and mice be able to jump in at the height it is. :-/

Hmm, well, I'll take it as a compliment but, someone who looks at the photo, buys the birds and then pays for a courier, might be a tad disappointed if they are not up to what he is expecting.

Idea! I don't get many... ;D One of those cat carriers that have a wire front, that way she will feel happily confined and your residents will be able to peep at her. BTW, I agree about not letting her breed till next year - just because she can lay eggs doesn't mean that she's ready to be a mum...a bit like 12/13 year old girls getting pregnant.

Painted a few drops of Ivermectin over affected area - no problems since.

Mine go out in the rain and love it. I don't put them out in strong wind, they end up hitting aerials and wires and get hurt.

I had this happen to one of mine. I could see feather shafts and thought he had hit a wire but it turned out to be depluming mite.

I put four of these up in my loft. The birds didnt take to them at all. I put some crisp boxes down and they were all claimed straight away. :-/ Scraping them wasn't easy so I gave up - the birds reared beautifully and when they weaned, I just threw the boxes away.
